Atlanta, Ga Meet-up 2010

It is the second annual Atlanta Newgrounds Meet! Last year was a blast. So why not do it again?

May 21st:
8:00 PM- Brick Store Pub

The pub itself is rather small, but it is a great place to grab a drink. There are also a lot of restaurants and other places around the pub to grab some drinks, eat some food and just hang out. This is the area where we started the meet last year, and good times were had by all.

May 22nd:
This is the main event!

1 pm- 6pm- The East Atlanta Beer Festival

Tickets go on sale in April. Last year it was $30 advanced tickets and $35 the day of the event. I don't think this needs much explanation. It is a 21+ only event, and involves drinking BEER!

8:00 pm- Karaoke at Chicago's Nancy's Pizza

Best Karaoke in the ATL! This place is a little small, so if you are coming let me know so I can make a reservation. You will NOT regret coming to this.

Wind down day. We will play it by ear and might throw in something fun for lunch. We will see.

Could I make a suggestion to let some of the younger NG useres participate? The pub event on the 21st is going on at 8 PM. How about we do something that all ages can attend during the afternoon? There are plenty of things that we could do, like take a tour of the CNN building, go to the Coke-a-Cola Museum or visit the GA. Aquarium.

I'm sure there is other stuff we could come up with, but again this is only a suggestion.

I actually don't mind this idea at all, and actually I was considering something like this. However, I couldn't commit myself to Friday during the day. If someone else wants to take the lead on it, it would be great to have an event like that during the day on Friday.

I am also not against changing the series of events completely. We can keep the times and days the same but change what we do. If no one is excited about the beer fest, we can drop it completely and instead just spend the day in the Centennial Olympic Parkarea. From there we can do the World of Coke, Aquarium, eat, etc. Keeping the pub on Friday night and Pizza on Saturday night. That way people who are 18-20 wont feel so cheated, and anyone younger can jump in as well.

I am open to suggestions and more than flexible. All I need is feedback. This is a Newgrounds event and not a ForNoReason event. I want to do stuff everyone will enjoy and want to come to.

I think that would work out much better. This is also a good way for people who are visiting Atlanta to see some of the sights. Considering that there is a pub and a pizza night, I'm sure there will be drinking already. A beeffest might be overkill at that point anyway.

And yeah I've been to the Coke museum too and other than that part where you get to try different drinks from around the world the rest of the place is lame.

Also you may want to point out the Marta system so that there are alternative modes of getting places.

I am defiantly going to give it some more thought and see if I get anymore feedback, but the schedule probably is going to change. Making it more age friendly only makes sense, and my liver doesn't deserve all that abuse...
