4.09 / 5.00 15,161 ViewsWell most of my music I own (like 95%) is metal. I really want some new bands though. Anyone have any suggestions? (I already have all of Five Finger Death Punch, Destroy Destroy Destroy, Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, Tool, Mastodon, Dream Theater, Gojira, Soilent Green, Slipknot, Rise Against, Pantera, and Mudvayne.) So if you have any metal music that wasn't listed above, please tell me, I really want some new music to listen to!
You guys are all real swell.
Between the Buried and Me, Asyndicate, Destroy the Runner, Job for Cowboy. Just to name a few.
Who's your warden, baby?
I think I counted three or four good bands out of that list.
Amon Amarth, Death, Opeth, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Massacre.
Lamb of God, Dimmu Borgir, Scar Symmetry, and My Ruin are amazing bands.
Well you can also try out Type o Negative, Dethklok, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy and the dutch death metal band: Hail of Bullets.

Between the Buried and Me is amazing. Listen to the album "Colors."

Such an amazing band, the Great Misdirect was especially good, but I'm not sure it can top White Walls from Colours.
Destroy the Runner,
Also pretty damn good. I liked their album I, Lucifer more than Saints though.
You should definatley check out The Human Abstract. They're currently my favourite band. However, their newest album MidHeaven was quite disappointing.
Slayer, Metallica, Rammstein, Rage Against The Machine, KoRn.
Depends on what you like, death-, heavy-, black-, thrash-, groove-, speed-, doom-, viking-, nu-, power-metal.... the list continues. By looking on the bands you listen to, I recommend metalcore, but metalcore is not metal you know.
Pagan/Pirate Metal:
Alestorm
Eluveitie
Finntroll
Heidevolk
Korpiklaani
Turisas
Wintersun
General Metal:
At The Gates
Fear Factory
I Killed The Prom Queen
If Hope Dies
Neurosis
Spineshank
Silent Civilian
Epic Metal:
Blind Guardian
Ensiferum
Rhapsody
Savage Circus
Sonata Arctica
Stratovarius
Therion
3 Inches Of Blood
Melodic Metal:
Dark Tranquility
Gunmetal Grey
In Flames
Insomnium
Tristania
I suggest you listen to some Lordi. They were the winners of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, and have also broken a world record or two. At least three of their albums were released in the US that I know of, as well as their movie "Dark Floors". I am actually quite surprised that not too many people outside of Europe know about them.
Before anyone says anything, I will point out that they were inspired by KISS, and are NOT GWAR wannabes.
Manowar, they are alot like iron maiden and they kick ass.
Couple of suggestions for likable Metal bands include:
The Faceless
Winds of Plague
Necrophagist
Stormlord
Graveworm
The Black Dahlia Murdur
Emperor
Abigail Williams (More Blackcore than Metal, but they're still amazing)
Daemonicium
Dissection
Enjoy!
Fleshgod Apocalypse - Origin - Wintersun - Finntroll - Kalmah - Istapp - Winterburst - Alghazanth - Hour of Penance - Braindrill - Moonsorrow - Abigail Williams - Dissection

What a dumb statement. A band is as good as someone believes they are.
Also, Dethklok is awesome.
Dimmu Borgir.
Gorogoroth.
Cattle Decapitation.
Agoraphobic Nosebleed.
Pig Destroyer.
Mayhem.
Wolves In The Throne Room.
The Locust.
Boris.
Bring Me The Horizon.
Japanische Kampfhorspiele.

Not from a talent standpoint. I've listened to bands that really can't play for shit. By that I mean the members really just can't play their instruments at all.
Pantera is a fun band to listen to: they're like thrash meets glam metal, I guess.
Iwrestledabearonce. I wouldn't call them metal, or metalcore for that matter but some of their songs are good. The singer is a girl which is pretty cool.
Song
2:25 Is pretty epic
Just recently I've been getting into System Of A Down and Korn.
Step 1) Burn any Slipknot CD's that you have, and delete any digital stuff. I could rant for a long time about them. >=(
Step 2) Unearth, Parkway Drive, Opeth, Agalloch, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Destroy the Runner, August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, A Day to Remember is pretty good too.

This, and August Burns Red. By the by, Slipknot, IS NOT METAL.
Moonspell, Machine Head, Abysmal Dawn, As Blood Runs Black, Trivium, Bullet for my Valentine (don't take Scream Aim Fire as a good example), Baroness, Bizarra Locomotiva, Nile, Born of Osiris, Meshuggah, The Human Abstract, Evile, DevilDriver, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Amon Amarth, The Black Dahlia Murder, Job for a Cowboy, Cavalera Conspiracy...
Also, stop listening to Slipknot, they're no longer what they were, now they're just a Teen Pop Pseudo-Metal band.
