MY Epic Poem 2010-02-04 23:08:23 Reply

I have to write an epic poem (Like the Illiad and the Oddyse that Homer wrote) for a history class and he said we could use the class as the City-State and use the people within the class in the poem.

My teacher, Mr.Aubrey, has a Goatee just so you get half of the little jokes here and there, and I made up the name Lezlo (There isn't an actual kid in my class named Lezlo is what I'm getting across here) and my History class is in Vo-tech (I hope you gusy know what that is... )

Sooo... Tell me how you guys like it :)

In the Land of Vo-Tech,
a city called World History
was under the rule of a King.
His name was King Aubrey the First.
He was a terrible man with an awesome Goatee,
he would always boast of how it resembled the God Chuck Norris's Goatee.
The King was conceded, and cruel.
He tortured his people by giving them Homework, and Tests everyday.
One day, a hero rose up from the crowd while he was giving his speech,
he always gave a daily speech on his so-called awesome-ness.
The Hero's name was Lezlo,
he was but a lowly Peasant.
His father though, was a great warrior that fought in the Sullivan County wars,
he died in battle while Lezlo was but a young boy.
The hero yelled up at the King, "King Aubrey!"
The King, to his suprise, was a baffled and turned to give Lezlo a menacing look

-It's not done yet by the way!-

Unarguable rebuttal^

So you're complaining because you get homework in World History class? Transparent for a parody. For a free verse poem, it lacks any cadence. Since it's a prose poem, this can be excused, however, we return to the fact that the parody is transparent and doesn't draw the reader in.
