I made this thread because of the fact that he thinks Punk music is Rap-Rock or Nu Metal. Not because I hate the music (But I do hate his music).

There is such a genre as rapcore.

Rapcore is a subgenre of rap rock that fuses hip hop and punk rock.

As this genre exists, we can conclude that punk rock and rap rock are different genres.

The best way to simplify all of this, is to break it down. The term 'punk' generally means inexperienced, and the genre shares the same basic idea of folk music: anyone can do it. Musically, punk is essentially the rebirth of rock n' roll, granted it's much more faster, aggressive, and abrasive than the likes of Buddy Holly. Punk tends to be a diverse genre, full of tons of different sub-genres. "Crunkcore" is not one of them.
"Crunkcore" is an abomination, that really has little roots in punk music. BrokenCyde are related to all the 'scene' bullshit, which is reserved for 13-year-old girls with self-esteem issues. I've heard of a punk scene, but never a "scene scene".
Just ignore it, it's a useless trend that will surely pass within time.

I must say it's pretty ironic that The-Undead-Guy is dissing Hollywood Undead.
But there are so many uneducated people about music. It's so difficult to have actualy conversations with people about it. I used to be this way, but I try to talk to my friends about music. They like one song by a band, and they think they're amazing or know everything about them.
Overall, mainstream music has almost wrecked music.

He is retarded; but I agree with him if he thinks that Hollywood Undead is rap mixed with rock. It was very new to me and they are practically rapping with guitars in one of their songs.

Well punk rock has evolved over the years (or de-volved, some might say) and now it's to me bands like Rise Against, The Offspring, and Green Day.

1. if you're punk rock wouldn't that mean doing what you want and not giving a fuck what people think.

2. it really doesn't matter. every band is different, there are plenty of punk bands influenced by rap. take rancid for example, after tim armstrong did his transplants project rancid started to have a little more of the hip-hop flow to it. but the opposite is true also, on of my favorite rap artists, Styles of Beyond, sampled an Iggy and the Stooges song. I've even heard Anti-Flag's "You Gotta Die For the Government" sampled.

I think I know what he was trying to say. Rock didn't necessarly come from 'Rap' but rock did come from the Black culture. Rock 'n' roll originated from the evolution of 'Rhythm and Blues' which originated in Black culture. Seeing how all music orginates from somewhere, influences, and build off each other, I understand what he means by Rock came from Rap. Rock didn't come directly from Rap roots, but it did come from the Black culture.
