Try blending the colours a bit more.

mastermario: i kinda LIKE that your colors aren't blended. it totally works for your style. lots of people do stuff like this (joecartoon.com comes to mind) and it really works for them.

i want to see more! you rule!

The character is decent, but the background is just bad.
I actually like this style of shading, and when done right it looks great. You've got the general concept down, now I'd just like to see a more refined piece.

I agree completely. To be specific though, I think it'd look better if you had a darker background, to make the character stand out more. Think that same character in the same pose, except the lights in the room are turned off.
