I just left my cookies in for 14 minutes....and then.....THEY'RE BURNT! Oh they're so stiff and brittle...this is so upsetting.

Have you ever awaited the great taste of cookies...only to fail at baking?

it's like the death of your first born child.....WATCH THAT OVEN!

Have you thought of a movie adaption to this story?

You should dip them in some milk until they soften up, and then eat them anyway.

But wait, a cow usually has utters that produce milk. Why would it need to line in want when it's physically built to create the thing it wishes to have?

Have you ever seen a cow try to drink milk from its own utters?

They wouldn't have to use their own, they could go suck on another cows utters.

As a cow I find that offensive.

As a human I find that hilarious.

Of course, how awkward would that be? Just going up to some member of your species under the assumption they have functioning milk machines and sucking on their titties.

It would make for some killer stories, at least.

Burnt microwaved pop corn is okay... if it's not too burnt. If the pop corn is popped on the stove and it's burnt it's almost never good.

And they wouldn't even be worth eating if they weren't going to be chewy.

It's always best to underbake cookies, so always set a timer or stopwatch for a few minutes less than what's recomended, then immediately transfer the cookies to a cool place for them to set. Adding more sugar to the recipe also helps to better bind your cookies together and gives them a more chewy texture.

You should also never bake them directly on the sheet pan, always put down a layer of parchment paper. This will keep your cookies from getting that undesirable dark bottom that can ruin a cookie's flavor. And never use Pam or any other aerosol non-stick cooking spray. The bitter taste from the erucic acid in canola oils always taint the cookies' flavor.
