3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsAccording to what i read in the article, they are looking to make another Watchmen GRAPHIC NOVEL. I bet a movie would follow, but supposedly it is going to be another comic book, rather than a movie at first.
I could deal with this because while Rorschach is awesome, they could maybe find a replacement. It could possibly involve one of them attempting to use Manhattan's machine to turn themselves radiated also to find Manhattan. Not likely, but it would be something that they could think about.
Either that, or the book can follow Manhattan around or even be of the Minutemen. The Minutemen idea sounds way better than the following of Manhattan to me, but i guess that is all opinion.
Either way, i would read it to see how it was. If i didn't like it, it wouldn't do any harm to how good the first one was. It just means that it wasn't as good and to just get over it.

I can see a prequel, but not a sequel, especially since every scene in the movie was based off the comic panels, and that's the only reason the movie was good.

Oh- SEQUEL?
Yeah, I understand your disappointment. That's just the way the movie industry works. Turns out, if it makes money, they'll milk the shit outta any franchise.
Fucking Mario...
Oh well. At least you just know Alan Moore is going to have some colorful things to say about it.

i wouldn't worry about it, the man is always rather calm after his daily helping of Orphan Souls.

He already hates the movie as it is, so yeah.
Stop That
Lol. Very funny drawings guys. :P
Anyway, a sequel is inevitable in popular movies. Although it's usually abysmal.
Unless they make a prequel where the Comedian and all the other previous Watchmen get the limelight. That'd be awesome.

I kind of get the feeling that he hates just about everything anyways.

No cities got destroyed in Watchmen. Just in the movie.
Anyways, if there's a sequel I really don't see what it'd be about.
A prequel could be fine.
I don't really think it will happen, after all the site is really just for rumours. But in the event it does happen, I'm sure all the fanboys will boycott the shit out of it and make sure it will make as much money as Meet the Spartans.
I have absolutely no idea how that would work...
Maybe it'll show the events before the first movie? Like the first watchmen?

Everybody who is attending the Alaska 2010 Meet-Up please post in that topic and let me know if you'll be attending this monumental event! This is NG history in the making!

Possibly, not probably. We're at very early stages here and it's likely to be a comic book first.
Link to the discussion. Are we going to see other masked heroes? Possibly. This is nothing more than talk of a glorified Fan Fiction at present, but we'll see.

HOW COULD THIS POSSIBLAY HAPPNE?!!!!1!! RORSCHACH IZ DED!
RAWR! >:(
Making a sequel to Watchmen (the graphic novel) is the same as making a sequel to Lord of the Flies, Romeo and Juliet, Citizen Kane, The Great Gatsby, Death of a Salesman, and Hamlet (don't give me any of that Hamlet 2 bullshit). The stories were all able to begin, rise, climax, and end using unforgettable characters and some subtle (or unsubtle) symbolism. They never needed to be added on to, and frankly neither does Watchmen.
Not to mention, similar to Shakespeare, a large chunk of the characters are dead.
I am a new terror born in death, a new superstition entering the unassailable fortress of forever. I am legend.
Watchmen? Without Rorschach? Fuck no. Most of the damn story line was dedicated to him.

Don't try to cover up your shitty typos.
The talk in the article was mainly of prequel comics, some of which I could see being interesting, but I can't help but feel the work was meant to stand on its own as it was. There is certainly space for a sequel, I just don't think anyone would do it right with out detracting from the original.

You are a breath of fresh air as always.
I am incredibily disappointed about this but I can't pretend that I'd boycot the sequel(s). I liked the original novel so much and the movie did let down the story a bit so I think I'll just just as eager to see if they do the novel justice again. Of course with no Alan Moore behind it it's not going to be likely, but we live in hope.
It's not like you could make that shit story any worse. How can a story that has a gary stu as a major character be taken seriously? I have had that question burn through my nightmares ever since I first saw the movie.

Damnit! I hate squeals! Oh well, good thing its not getting a sequel.
Dude, when Alan Moore saw the movie come out, he hated it, as do all of his movie adaptations. If someone actually made a comic book version that was a sequel to something he made, the dude would go on a killing spree. I don't think it's the nerds that we will be afraid, it's the creator! I think there's no doubt in anyone's mind this will be crappy, if it's ever made.
