Looking for short story(ies)?? 2010-02-02 04:25:10 Reply

Hey guys,

My apologies if this kind of behavior is frowned upon, first time in the writing forum, but i was wondering if someone would be kind enough to help me find a short (horror) story(ies).

Unfortunately this may be a problem because although I remember it as a genuinely great story, the details, that I am able to recall, are quite vague.

Anyway here is a brief description, or collection of points rather:

- It starts out as an (supposed) email between two friends discussing, the whereabouts of another friend who had to house sit a property for his father. This friend loathed and feared the house as he felt a presence ( or evil ) within it.

-The emails continue and eventually tell of how, one night the friend (house sitter) tells of "something cool" pulls out a knife and slashes the carpet. He also begins to recite tv commercials and songs. It is discussed that the house stole his soul.

-One of the friends tries to find the source of this house, the architect is contacted (but i think has dead, not sure). The man finds a previous tenet of one of the houses and interviews her. She is a junkie however recollects quite clearly of events within the house.

-The friend, finding no more information goes to the house, breaks in and searches, the story is then told in the form of text messages for a paragraph or two as the friend talks of breaking in and "there is something in here" and the eventual "help".

- The story then continues with a couple renovating a previously bought house. The house has one central front window, and an aged white picket fence with various parts of it broken.

-The female of this couple communicates with a friend telling of how she is not sleeping well and strange things are happening within house. One example of this is bile leaking down the walls from the ceiling.

-These stories claim to be true accounts.

-A similar story is written in the form of a blog post of a teenage girl babysitting for a couple. She tells of computers measuring temperature variances in the attic, although it is said the house has no attic. The child that is being babysat speaks of figures talking to her.

Again my apologies for this vagueness, as I read this about three years ago, and if the points seem incoherent, it is because as I typed i remembered small parts of the story/stories and then added them in.

Thankyou for any help that is given,

Cerebral.

You do know that saying Stephen King still only narrows is down to like a million books. ha.

Oh hey guys sorry I didn't respond quickly, suffering from a very odd logging in error that has effectively ruined newgrounds for me ( audio portal isn't working either, and I've had to resort to using my iPhone to even view the forums ).

But anyway to answer your question Interimo, I'm not sure who wrote it sorry.....I'm not sure it is even a published story or stories or whatever it is, as I read it all over the Internet, thus the blog posts with the teenage babysitter and whatnot.

Again thanks for the the help.
