Hm, some people asked me to draw the characters for an upcoming collab, but I'm new to this. My question is this;
I already know how to draw people, but how does a drawing come to life? Should I add things not normally seen in my art, like joints? Any advice on how to make my art convert into animations would be helpful. :3

Well if you are just drawing character sheets and designs, the animator or person asking would basically break up your drawings how they see fit. They would either trace the images or use your drawings as reference and re draw them in the poses needed. It also depends on if they are setting up a puppet or just need character ideas. They may also ask you to draw certain poses and use those in the animation.
Ask the people what it is they want exactly, cuz there is a chance that they don't know what they're doing. It's kind of hard to explain all the different possibilities on how to bring your character to life, so ask what they want and if you post that here I wouldn't mind explaining what they mean.
