What is your favorite and/or worst Mario game?
My worst is probably Hotel Mario
My favorite so far is Yoshi's Island for the SNES. Best platformer I've ever played.

Best, IGNORING ALL NOSTALGIA/HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE (Remember this, motherfuckers) is Galaxy. The challenge is perfected, every mission was fun, and the soundtrack...holy fuck.
Ignoring Kart/sports/Party, the worst is by far Sunshine. The difficulty is unfair, Yoshi was pure gimmick and absolutely unnecessary and useless, and there were few instances where I honestly had fun with the game.
Super Mario and the Thousand Year Door is my favourite.
Suber Mario Brothers 2 the none japanese version one, its just a pile of crap.
My favorite platformer is Mario Deluxe for GameBoy Color, it always seemed to have a surprise around the corner and Luigi levels were awesomely hard. (I got to 3-1 on Luigi mode but my brother erased my data.)

Mario And Luigi: SuperStar Saga will always hold a special place in my heart, along with the Paper Mario series.
Those are the only JRPG's that have even managed to hold my interest long enough to finish them. :D

i have that game to =D pretty good. it combines both Super Mario Brothers and Super Mario Brothers 2: The Lost Levels or the Luigi levels if you want.
but my favorite Mario games in order must be:
1. i'm sorry. i have to go nostalgic on this on. Super Mario 64 will always be my very favorite Mario game. fun stages, awesome music, loads of stars... and it is always fun to just pick it up and start playing.
But 64 have to share it's 1st place. Super Mario RPG is also one of the very best RPG's ever made. it could have been even better to me if i played it on the SNES. but i didn't get it until it reached the Wii. still awesome, but not of nostalgic reasons.
2. Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door. no doubt i love hte Mario RPG's xD this one is so awesome. cool characters, real good plot and many side quests and other things to do.
3. Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. again a Mario RPG hit my top Mario game list.
the only Mario RPG i couldn't like so much compared with the rest is Super Paper Mario. it was decent...

Mario is one of the game series that I've barley touched. This is mainly because I've never owned any Nintendo consoles, other than the handhelds and a Wii.

I loved Yoshi's Island but I hated the DS version. If those don't count, My favorite would be Mario & Luigi Partners in Time.

These represent (imo) Mario's best in each category (2D Platformer, RPG, 3D Platformer)

for me the worst mario game is the hotel mario and a list of the better mario games are:
1:yoshi island. Its the best mario(or...yoshi)game i ever played.
2:Mario world.It´s a awesome game but nintendo should to put another game with that sprites.
3:mario 64:for me it was the second best nintendo 64 game ever (before of the legend of zelda the ocarina of time of course)

They both had Mario's visage on them, unless perhaps you're blind and typing this with a Brail keyboard.
My favorite: Super Mario Sunshine. I thought it was a lot of fun. Plus, I get the fringe benefit of spiting supperman. >:D
MY least favorite: Yoshi's Island. (It counts: it has Mario in it, and it's full name is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island). The cry of a baby Mario is only rivalled in deafness-causing madness by the mating call of Xbox Live's native Prepubescent Homophobe.
