3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsI'm getting bored of COD,want to buy a new game.I'm having difficulty deciding between these two games.I've heard nothing but good things about both.Somebody(preferably if you have both)help me decide.
Also,I heard that you could use your save games from Mass Effect in Mass Effect 2,I deleted mine. Will this degrade my gaming experience in any way?
I own both and both are good in their own right. Mass Effect 2 has solid, fun gameplay with a nice story. If you're more into the rpg aspect and prefer a space atmosphere, go with this title. Assassin's Creed 2 is also a very nicely done game. The surroundings in it are astonishing and the combat is really smooth and satisfying, get this game if you love the romantic period of ancient history and love killing people.
Lolz
You have to decide yourself, personally I'd go with Mass Effect 2 first, then later when you get more cash go in for AC2.
I prefer assassins creed 2! FTW! It has like a couple months worth of gameplay!
I have to say, Assassins creed 2. Loads of fun, Good combat system, way better then the orignal good story line. I like it all around.
I would go with Mass Effect 2, as it's a more fleshed out game as a whole. While Assassin's Creed 2 felt great, it was a bit souless at times. No matter where I was in Mass Effect 2, personality oozed from every orifice, and while I never felt the need to put down the controller in between gaming sessions with either, I would say Mass Effect 2 definitely leaned more on obsession than casual enthusiasm... You can take that either way. I feel like a Star Trek nerd but for the Mass Effect universe.
Assassin's Creed 2 does have it's moments, but many of them come very late in the game. Let's put it this way. Assassin's Creed 2 is worthy of being runner up to Game of the Year for 2009. Mass Effect 2 could easily take the top slot (provided nothing Uncharted 2 quality comes out later this year and blinds reviewers with super duper pretty graphics) for GOTY 2010.
Do note that my gaming experience was enhanced 7 fold by the use of an imported character. Everytime I heard about an exploit I had done and remember from the first game, it was an overall exciting feeling that the game remembered every single little detail. The big decisions, though (Wrex, Ashley/the... dude that I never used etc.) are what make the universe feel truly like your own. You can beat the original game in 20-30 hours with side missions, so you could save your money for a little while, replay that and then go out and get Mass Effect 2. Note that all the super awesome technical flaws from Mass Effect are gone in Mass Effect 2, though, so if you're looking for a buggy,
low framerate mess, sorry :(!
Comes down to personal preference. Good luck choosing.

Beat that game, everything done but the feathers, 25-30 hours. Mass Effect 2 gave me well over 60. Nothing against Assassin's Creed 2. It's a dammed fine game, but it's length is minuscule in comparison.

Ehh, Mass Effect 2 is very very light on the RPG elements in comparison to any BioWare game ever made, and is really (by game mechanics alone) a shooter with certain RPG elements thrown in for good measure. It's a very simplified version of an RPG, and whether the OP finds this a good thing or bad is up to personal taste.
Both are fantastic games, and it all comes down to personal preference.
Assassin's Creed has a much more visceral combat engine, with up-close fights that have been improved over the first, and the violence is amplified to almost ludicrous levels with some brutal attacks and animations. The mission structure is fairly straight-forward; go kill this list of bad guys, but remains interesting given the range of options given to you in terms of weapons, abilities and the locations themselves. The parkour system is as sturdy as ever, and gives you almost complete freedom within the locations from the beginning of them.
Mass Effect 2 has done away with the more RPG-stylised parts of the original game; only several basic skills remain, with four different levels of strength. Squad numbers have been increased, and the narrative between both the ending of Mass Effect and the very beginning of Mass Effect 2 is tied together nicely, if rather conspicuously. The combat system has been refined, offering more intense, action-oriented battles that feel fast-paced and deadly, although the number of weapons and armament options has decreased somewhat. The space exploration has been thoroughly degraded, with a minimal number of planets to explore, instead replaced by a mining-esque minigame. That said, the planets that are explored are vibrant, personality-leaking areas that are worth the hours you'll spend discovering their secrets.
Basically, it all depends on what you want; up-close and personal combat, open-world freerunning and an inventive parkour system, interesting and difficult challenges such as Assassination contracts and Races can be found solely in Assassin's Creed 2. Mass Effect 2 boasts an entire galaxy to discover and traverse, as well as deep, believable characters and strong sense of plot direction. Both games have really nailed down the mechanics they sought to perfect, and feature stunning, if somewhat outworldly stories.
I have never had to make a harder choice.
It really is upto you, whichever one you choose, you will not be dissapointed.
illicit makes a damn good signature.
Dreamer, learn how to review. chump
Asking to choose between AC 2 and ME 2 is like asking to choose between caramel and fudge. :3
