I like how you're doing exercises, it really helps in the long run. Overall, there's some nice effort going into them, but you've left in some major hiccups that could be fixed pretty easily. Such as the string in the paddle animation, or the table legs in your object rotation. Remember, anything worth animating is worth spending time on, if it doesn't look right, it isn't.

I think you'd benefit from reference material in your studies as well, if you have a digital camera try quickly filming what you want to animate and study how it moves.

I like what you've done here, keep at it and keep practicing!

One thing that helps me is if i don't really animate the face 'Skeleton' i just draw where everything is going to go.

Response to flashero's amimations 2010-02-04 17:14:54

I don't really get you.

Like lets say the face is going from Right to left, First i draw the face facing right obviously then i draw the face like it's staring at me then a draw it at the left. after that i draw the inbetweens in red and then i make a new layer draw all of the frames then inbetween it some more.

Does that make sence?

Response to flashero's amimations 2010-02-04 18:43:58

he means animating the blue skeleton is pointless

Response to flashero's amimations 2010-02-04 19:15:00

Not really pointless i use it as a guide line.

Response to flashero's amimations 2010-02-05 02:44:37

ok cool, I got you

Response to flashero's amimations 2010-02-05 18:32:26

Response to flashero's amimations 2010-02-05 19:07:00

My first attempt at a BG A little animation of a guy appearing, I'd love some critique so I can improve my backgrounds.

Full ? hardly .

thats just the title of the link

the walk cycles arent looking good so far ,draw a flat line to work on to start with and work by going through keyposes until the timing is right first then work on inbetweens , good to know your practicing though !

i agree

You got the animators survival kit eh?
Well what i do with walk cycles is draw a green line where i want the feet to walk. then i draw each fram progressing from left to right.

Basically i wouldn't animate it within a movieclip and then tween it, it looks bad.

I am so hip.

O didn't animate in a movieclip, I just did bad spacing

Well what i meant by that is don't animate in place, it ends up looking bad.

Yeah I got you the first time, it's only good if you want to walk on the spot or games.
