Should I get a Wii?

I am going to have enough money soon to get a Wii. I was wondering if it is worth it, I am going to get a used one.
Also, what games are the best to get, and what do you think of the downloadable games?

Anyway; I think the Wii is great fun, as long as you don't expect to play a great new game every week.

My reccomendations would be:

Wii Titles:

Metroid Prime Trilogy
MadWorld
The House of the Dead Overkill
Super Mario Galaxy
No More Heroes
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Mario Kart Wii
House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
Punch-Out!!
Super Smash Bros. Brawl

WiiWare Titles:

Swords and Soldiers
Bonzai Barber

Virtual Console:

Super Mario RPG
Ogre Battle

The only real value in getting the Wii is to get old, discontinued games, and to play Gamecube games. The actual games for the Wii mostly suck. All of the games take advantage of the Wii's motion sensor ability, making all of the games just interactive eye candy. Most of the stories suck, and most of the controls are generic.

Having said that, there are a few games that stand out that I think every Wii player should own:

Guitar Hero 3-5
Rockband 1 and 2
Red Steel
The Conduit
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (only because it really fills in the gaps for the other Resident Evil games. Only get this if you truly like Resident Evil)
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles (same as above. Only get it if you really like Resident Evil)

All of the other games made for the Wii just try to take advantage of the motion sensing ability. Most of the plots of the rest of the games suck and aren't worth it. And the graphics aren't really that good either.

Overall, it's only worth it if you are looking to get a few unique games. I say it's mostly a family game system and should be reserved just for that.

Well, I am looking more up to the downloadable games such as World of Goo and older games. Thanks for the recommendations and yes, I am a true RE fan. I also wonder about NMH (No More Heroes) and Super Paper Mario. Any opinions on those, cause I want biased opinions from REAL people not asshole critics.

Support is crap for them, DLC is a waste of time, the graphics and bugs are terrible, some features aren't in the Wii versions (such as clothes, band world tour, etc) - yeah I highly recommend against these.

World of Goo is an insanely awesome game, I have it on PC, so I can't really comment on it for the Wii if there are any real differences, but I imagine it's pretty much the same experience.

Compared to the rest of the games on the Wii, these are somewhat decent. But you compare them to other consoles, then they don't stand a chance.

To the OP: if you already have a 360 or PS3, don't bother with Guitar Hero or Rockband. It will just be wasted money.

I've been a Nintendo fan for as long as I can remember so I guess I'm biased in this matter but yet, it's worth getting a Wii. It's got plenty of fun games. There are even a few under-rated gems in there like Madworld.

Just don't expect anything completely groundbreaking that's not Zelda or Mario on the Wii.

I am also a big Nintendo fan, and I am a huge Mario fan. I think Madworld looks like one of the most brutal games ever made, and I want to play it so bad. I love playing under-rated gems because it is a game that nobody knows about, but is good, and when bringing it up in conversation people are like, wtf is that? I also like the whole wiiware thing because I love 8, 16, 64, and indie games.

If you're into retro gaming then I'd definitely recommend getting Mega Man 9 on Wiiware. You might find it to be fustrating at first but you get good at the levels and eventually you get good. It's great fun.

I was actually going to buy Super Mario galaxy and 2 Wii points cards for World of Goo, Super Mario Bros., and Megaman 9. ever since I heard that it was 8-bit like its predecessors, but it is new, I was very anxious to play it.
