Moleskine. Again please do leave some opinions on which image of the woman you prefer, i cant decide between the sketch and colour.

I like the colour better. But they're both amazing. Everything you've posted so far is... So jealous of your skills...

I like this colored one better; but im not too keen on those ripples in the water (white lines)...
Thanks for the replies! I guess ill be submitting the colour version to the art portal when Im happy with it. The white lines are a result of a bit of experimentation Ive had with scanning different materials in. Ive had a go at screen printing to try and get some cool textures. Unfortunately ive just had a nasty injury thats mangled my middle finger so it might mean a step back on the drawing side of things for a while, Im trying to take it like a man but im pretty pissed off about it. Maybe ill try drawing with my left hand.
Otto id be really interested to know which website has featured my sketchbook on, im always happy with a bit of internet promotion!
Thanks again guys
Tried drawing with my injured hand, nothing super impressive but i managed to get a few line drawings in.
While my hands healing i thought id go through some of last years work from the first semester, this is the square sketchbook project we were set to complete, its over 100 pages long, we had to fill this full of sketches, experiments and paintings.
Speedpainting with dodgy proportions which is about 90 pages in.
Cool and awesome stuff. I do notice that drawing is a passion of yours, keep it on.
Thanks droghead, yes art is one of my passions, its a beautiful sunny day and here i am indoors working on 5 minute colour speedpaints.
Colour is my weakest point, colour theory just it scares me.
Ne7ers,
You just inspired me yet also put me and my art into shame.
Thanks! Im glad i could inspire you!
Lots of new work, so ill have to pick out some of the best bits to put up.
The fact that you can make such stuff in speedpaintings is incredible.
Uh, we're talking 10-15 minutes each, its been a while since ive drawn anything from scratch digitally so i thought id test my hand at working on tablet. Working traditionally and retouching sketches has changed my whole process of drawing on computer. Computer aided drawing for me used to be about getting the smoothest gradients and smallest details, now ive decided that theres just no point, create a good foundation with value, quality composition, line and texture and the rest will follow.
I've still got a long way to go and a lot of personal drawing demons to face before im truly happy with my work.
Thought its about time id update people on the moleskine.
Hands. Ive got pages and pages in books and books of hands. In the first year i used to rough out the lines and hate what id drawn, but before i threw it away id add in some shadow and tone and they would look ok, i guess this is ok, a lot of what defines the form of a hand is tone, especially in foreshortened instances. Here i am trying to stay away from tone and work on the quality of my lines.
Quick studies and no ref drawings before bed. The two faces in the centre are studies from Giovanni Civardi. Im was hoping to see some improvement in the construction of my no ref portraits so the rest are quick and nasty doodles to test myself.
Last one before i go to bed, this one isnt exactly current, this is the the tattoo commission i produced the other month, finished in colour.
Wont bore you guys with more studies of hands, ive got through the whole A3 sketchbook now with my hand studies now. This is a bit of style exploration i doodled in my moleskine, anatomy always helps, even if you choose to go for a more stylalized approach.
Your stuff never seizes to amaze me. your lines and shading are generally just spot-on. and youve got some great gestures/expressions/poses. good job man
