This is an unofficial, not to mention late, sequel to my 'A BBS Life', which not many of you will remember. The old BBS life featured names such as TheFaces, Uber Kuri, Tasty_Turnips, all of whom seem to be long gone, so I guess I'm going to have to have a completely different cast of characters. Which brings the attention to you fine readers of the Writing forum. If you want to be part of this, PM, and I can not stress them two letters enough, PM me a completed version of the form below. I'll write an opening chapter now, but before I start the second chapter I'll at least attempt to wait for some applicants. ;P

Chapter 1
He had long forgotten a place where even the most vulgar of things had been considered unoffensive and at times, even slightly funny. He had long forgotten a place where post count and sign up date meant more than a clever, helpful post, or a well crafted argument. Some... most... said forgetting this place was a blessing, while very few others thought it was a curse. He himself didn't know what to to think. It wouldn't matter anyway, because the name of the website escaped him all those years ago.
While he didn't quite remember the website, he remembered what he went by. 'Ecko'. Not a nickname he enjoyed, but before that it had been simply 'Chaos', so he would've taken anything. Come to think of it though Chaos is a pretty bitchin' nickname... Despite constantly searching through his memories, all he could come up with was www.N, and then nothing. Newchan? No, no, it wasn't that. Neopets? No... Neoseeker? No. No matter what he tried he could never find that one website where he belonged.
Rock your body, come on come on, rock, that, bo-dy, rock your bod- he grabbed his phone and flipped it open, placing it to his ear and leaning back on his computer chair. He forgot to change the ringtone AND check who was calling him. Great.
"Hey?", he said confidently down his end of the phone, patiently waiting a few moments before a loud scream echoed through his ear. Although slightly shocked, he acted cool and laughed as his best friends voice was heard down the line.
"Sup Joe?", his friend asked him, the sound of fingers hitting keys in the background nearly drowning his voice out.
"Nothing man, nothing. I've been trying to remember this... this website that I use to go on... for about a day and a half now. It's driving me mental." As Joe finished saying this he ran his hands through his hair, using his shoulder to prop the phone up to his ear.
"Ah, ok, how sad; hey, do you ever go on Newgrounds anymore?", his friend replied casually, the tapping getting increasingly louder. And with the mention of Newgrounds, Joe stopped twisting in his chair, stopped running his hands through his hair; he nearly dropped the phone.
"My god. Branden I love you so much I could kiss you right now. Gotta go, bye." Joe slammed the phone shut and as he did, he heard Branden yell "Go on MSN!". But he wasn't going too. Opening up Mozilla Firefox, Joe's mouse slowly careered over to the search bar and clicked. His fingers hovered over the keys for a matter of seconds before the website was entered; www.newgrounds.com. All he had to do was to hit enter, and he would be staring at his fourteen year old self again. And as his finger went to push the button down, a voice interrupted him.
"Joe, dinner time! Come downstairs, now!" Fuck. Newgrounds was going to have to wait. Joe hadn't eaten all day, and the prospect of food had him dribbling. He stared at the address bar for a second, before minimizing the window.
"Coming now, mum!", he yelled as he kicked the chair as far away from the desk as he could and twisted to face the door, standing up and rather smoothly exited his room, the smell of food drawing him downstairs.

Chapter 2
He was back on the computer, now. After his dinner, which consisted of chicken, salad and pasta, Joe had rushed straight upstairs to become familiar with his once favourite website; Newgrounds. Opening up the minimized page, Joe clicked down on the address bar and firmly pushed the enter button. He was brought to the Newgrounds homepage; not much had changed. There were a few new sections, nothing major. The only huge difference Joe could note was the Art portal. He never really enjoyed art, so he skipped past that button until his cursor came to 'forums', which he affectionately knew as the Newgrounds BBS.
Realizing he wasn't logged in, Joe clicked the username box and began to type -Ecko-, before remembering he had a name change. Sexylegs was printed into the box, and after entering his password, Joe hit enter. With a blinding flash of light, Joe was sucked into the computer, traveling down millions upon millions of tiny, light purple tubes intertwined with one another. Opening his eyes, Joe saw a tiny white light at the end of the current tube he was in, and hoped to god that he wouldn't be fired out onto the cold, gray BBS floor head first. Luckily, before the tube pushed him out like a woman in labor, he had managed to swivel around so he landed on his feet.
He had to close his eyes when he landed, as he hadn't visited Newgrounds in over four years, and the lighting seemed even odder than it previously did. As the sun was rising, a very dark orange was cast over the entire BBS, which was crawling with people, most of which he didn't know. Joe knew the routine though, and as he walked towards the General forum of the BBS, he saw his old friend Blue Hippo standing on a raised platform, a golden crown placed on his head. When Joe looked closer, he noticed that the hippo himself was tinted slightly golden; must've become a mod. Lucky bastard.
Smirking slightly at his friends fortune, Joe pushed his way into General, nearly tripping on the way into the gigantic city like sub-forum. Talk, dark buildings were erect on both sides of the street General was contained in, and on either side there were people having discussions. He remembered this street; back then cars never used it. Being the only person walking down the middle of a road might have looked daft to most, but to Joe it was normal. It was how he use to get about, back in the day.
Speeding up ahead of him though was a dark black car with golden alloys, a golden window tint and a beastly golden neon glow under itself. The car was going at least 225mph doing the narrow road, and the driver seemed intent on killing Joe where he stood. Luckily Joe dived out of the way just in time, but the driver wasn't stopping; he crashed into the wall separating General from the rest of the BBS. The force wasn't enough to smash the wall, but it was enough to complete wreck the car. As people stared, the driver slowly dragged himself out of the car and slumped onto the ground lifeless. After that, everybody resumed their conversations, and Joe was the only one to go over and check if he was ok.
"Dude, you alright? You hit the wall pretty hard..." Joe tapped the man on the shoulder, but he didn't move. Joe went to turn around, not wanting to be blamed for making the man crash when the paramedics arrived, but a hand suddenly grabbed his ankle, stopping him from going. All to suspicious of an Ebaums attack, Joe spun on his foot and with his free leg kicked the man in the jaw. The grip on his ankle loosened, and Joe grabbed the young looking man and flipped him onto his bad. His kick didn't do that much damage, but still he wanted to get out of General. Grabbing hold of one of the mans arms, Joe began to walk him out of General and into the BBS Central. There were certain platforms on which you would stand if you wanted a train to visit, let's say the Games Portal, or the Art Portal. Newgrounds had changed alot since Joe was a regular.
As Joe was helping the man out of General he noticed a little tag on the top left corner of his shirt. Peering in for a closer look he noticed that it was a nametag, reading "Hi!... I'm Epic Fail!". Joe nodded, and laughed under his breath. Why doesn't it surprise him. Underneath that however was Fail's sign up date; '07. Joe's eyes bulged, as he got to the platform that lead to the Newgrounds Art Portal. His plan was to leave Fail there and come back and get him in the next 3 hours, when the sun was up. That was he might not be tempted to drive really fast cars down really narrow streets, wearing sunglasses of all things. As the train arrived, and Joe literally threw Fail onto the nearest seat, Fail's eyes opened slightly, only for a few minutes. He looked at Joe and smiled a little bit. He knew there were people at the Art Portal that could help him. Joe did not. And as the train doors began to close, Fail managed to squeeze out a sentence before he disappeared out of Joe's life forever.

I think I remember your last story. Though, it was quite a while ago, wasn't it? Hmmm...
Anyway, it looks good so far. I have to admit this line really made me lol since it just seemed sort of out of place
He was back on the computer, now. After his dinner, which consisted of chicken, salad and pasta
It's good to know what he had for dinner, I was concerned :P

Yes, my last one was more or less exactly 4 years ago. And I know the line seemed out of place, but I just had chicken, salad and pasta before I wrote it so I felt that it needed to be incorporated into the story somehow. Chapter 3 will be up sometime tomorrow (AU, NSW time) because I am very, very tired and I have school tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I'd make the best character in any story. Do you know how much better Catcher in the Rye would be if I was in it?
A lot better is the answer to that question, in case you didn't know.
