A Newgrounds Story 2010-01-27 23:32:54 Reply

OK, I'm bored do i'm going to write a story about my favorite website. Don't expect it to be good or nuthin. Also no need to read it all at once. Ok, here goes....
~~~
It was a dark, warm summer night. There were few clouds in the night sky so the moon shone clearly onto the looming buildings in New York City. The familiar landmark of the Empire State Building rose 1,250 ft into the New York City skyline, a spectacular yet often seen symbol of the sprawling metropolis. What was transpiring tonight however did not take place in the well-known landmark, but rather 300 feet below its lobby.
Deep within the heart of the secret Newgrounds hidden, incognito, hush-hush, super-duper sneaky underground base sat the well known leader of the top-secret organization in his office. Thomas Phebeous Aregulous Narcotious Smithsonian Jones "Danger" Fulp sat in his plush armchair, staring intently at the numerous screens that encircled his black mahogany, platinum-gold-silver-titanium alloy plated, diamond-emerald-ruby-sapphire-amethyst-o pal encrusted desk. Fulp frowned as he stared at the panel of screens for a few moments. Feeling frustrated, he got out of his panther-fur covered arm chair and paced around his office for a few minutes. Finally, he sighed and sat back down in his luxurious armchair. He pressed a button on his intercom and spoke into it with his surprisingly bass-toned voice,
"Send me Luis."
Luis Machismo Antagonistic Buffington Mexicano Enchilada Spaghetti "The Boss" Castanon walked into the office of Thomas Fulp. Fulp acknowledged Luis' arrival.
"Please take a seat." Fulp said as he gestured to the chair in from of his desk.
"I'd rather stand." Luis said with defiance.
"Suit yourself." responded Fulp. "Would you care for a drink?"
"That I would like." said Luis, as he walked over to Fulp's minibar and grabbed a bottle of vodka. Luis drank the entire bottle in 3 massive gulps and threw it behind him, not feeling the slightest under the weather.
Fulp then spoke to Luis, "I called you here to take care of a little problem that needs to be done by a man with suitable abilities."
"I assume you would only call me for something of the utmost importance." Luis responded.
"Yes, well I know you are the most capable of handling a job of this magnitude. But seeing as you are my newest recruit, I was uncertain if you would be prepared for this job."
Luis gave a humorless laugh, "I can handle anything. Don't bother putting up one of your other employees like Bob or Tim. I see how they handle their jobs and they are nothing compared to my talents."
Tom gave a questioning glare as he picked up a remote off of his desk, "I know you are great, but I certainly hope you can handle this."
Tom pointed a remote at one of the monitors encircling his desk and pushed a button, immediately bringing up a picture of an unassuming man giving a speech to a small crowd. He seemed very smart but like he didn't get out very much.
"This man has been stirring up rumors about us. Saying that we no longer adhere to the values we once had and that we are actually corrupt and dedicated only to making more money. Luis, you obviously know that we have always tried to keep up the image that we are an easygoing company with a website that appeals to everyone and provides entertainment for the masses. As you already know, this is just a cover to hide our real intentions. To corrupt and control the masses with subliminal messages in an effort to take over the world."
"No need to state the obvious."
"Right, well. This man is on to us and I need you to take him out."
If Luis ever laughed, "Are you serious? I can take punks like him anytime. I thought you were going to give me something tough."
"Easy, Luis. This might not be as easy as it looks. This guy's message seems similar to several others that have been spreading rumors recently. I need you to interrogate this guy to see if there is any connection between them. This thing may run deeper than you might think."
"Hah, this is a piece of cake. I'll get the information out of this guy easy."
Tom looked at Luis intently with his beautiful eyes,
"Don't get overconfident Luis, I have a bad feeling about this."
"Goddamn Tom, you couldn't possibly sound more cliche."
Good read, although you need to make new paragraphs when someone is talking. Also, try using punctuation where needed. I.e. commas, semi-colons, periods, etc. I'd do away with the insanely lengthy names altogether, but all in all, not a bad start. Hope to see this comes to further completion.
You might learn a few things from ByteSlinger and EagleRock and Eagle's sequel.
Yeah, thanks for your irrelevant comment.
To keep this comment relevant, I will post the next chapter when I feel like it. Probably tomorrow. So to all two of you faithful readers, keep on the lookout.
