Critiques/Advice - simple animation

Well, I got Flash in the beginning of January, and I've had barely ANY time to use it what with finals and all that.
This is the only good thing I've made, out of the 4 attempts at animations I've had.
The problem I'm having is that whenever I start making something, I get really overwhelmed with all the layers and different tools, and it gets really confusing... Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome this/what I can improve with my animations (I know there's a lot).

I find the best way for me to learn a program is to do online tutorials (It guides you through using the tools in a practical sense) and to basically tool around, and if you check at your local library I'm sure there's a book or two about Flash.
As for animating, a wonderful book you might want to look at is The Animator's Survival Kit. It will guide you through plenty of techniques and processes.
Check out AnimationMeat.com, it has links to tons of other resources that you can use to help jump start your animation.

Blegh, I feel like I could do well at animation, but it's so overwhelming and time consuming.
I'm not used to putting away an art project and coming back to it later unless its for school. usually i'll sit down for however long it takes to finish the picture..
