For all you pivot whores, or those of you who have ever tried it out. Good for animation practice, and quite challenging. Don't knock it till you try it.

Don't have it? Download it here for free!

This is supposed to be fun, so critique if you like, just try to put some effort into it, and give us something funny or interesting to look at.

The old threads just didn't fit anywhere so it was discontinued so i was hoping this would be a much more suitable place.

Links to the old locked threads if you feel like browsing through the massive number of pages.
Link 1Link 2

Old collabs that resulted from those.

Alright get to work chaps, whip something up.

For example

Not sure if it allows animated gifs here goes.

narf, your timing is really quite excellent, you should really move on from just creating stick animations

I've heard the same things about flippy-books I used to make in elementary school, but since I picked up Flash I haven't progressed much.

I tried pivot, but I never really got that good at it, it might be my impatience.
I'm really impressed by that one you posted at the top though.

lol i was just gunna check up on the vg forum when i saw this wonderful section and this thread was the first thing to pop in my head.

I know i really should branch out and i will eventually. I've had a few projects in mind and I'm actually going to be getting into the flash gaming business if i ever start. I'mworking on a comp. sci. degree so it'd be perfect for me.

Oh hey Narf, you decided to bring back the showcase aye?
Well alrighty! Sadly I deleted everything to do with pivot, all my sticks my animations and even gifs. But recently I made this:

PS: For all of you who don't know, I was around in the first pivot showcase.

Common guys just try it out. I'm not asking you to convert to pivot or anything, its just a tool to play around with and have some animating fun!!
Doesn't need to be a stickman, Example .

This was probably the last thing i've done in a long time, just playing around out of boredom.

Why do people still use pivot when flash can not only support skeletons but tween them aswell , AND add your own custom body parts and instant flashy effects . oh well

Few things.

1. Pivot is for fun purposes only
2. Its FREE!!! (unless your an illegal flash pirate with a pegleg and a hook)
3. I have version 8 of flash so no skeletons but that really isn't a reason not to animate with it.
4. Scratch that, I HAVE FLASH. I've used it. I know its capabilities. I never said pivot was the end all be all software, just a limited medium to play with.
5.@ duhidiot, ngmastah isn't dead, it was an elaborate hoax lol. Ps good to see ya. you too random. Missed u guys.
6. Flash will come to me in good time. I'm finishing school first, but a friend of mine is asking me to whip up some movieclips/spritesheets, what ever u call them, for his flash game. So yeah easy work. (he's coding up a smash bros game for fun).

Anyway flash is great and the perfect animating tool. Pivot is just good fun.

Hey buddy! now we need ape to see this. I talked to him a week ago or so.

Im not too rusty even tho i took a long break with animation. I still can keep my movements down, it just takes me longer to make it look the way i want it.

Well, you have a very slight sense of easing at least but it's not consistent, which is important for pivoting. Mostly stiff, which can really hinder a stick animation.

Work up a few detailed sticks and get used to the stick making interface first before you get into using objects like that "knife" of yours.

Other then that its not bad for a first pivot and possibly first animation. I recon my first was probably worse.

Around 2 years ago. Not that long compared to most people.

This.

They gave us packs of post-it notes to use for some book, but making animations was SO worth the bad grade.

lol, we'll i've done a few flip books out of boredom when i was in highschool, but it really didn't teach me anything about animation, but thats also the fact that you don't get much educated animation criticism from highschool friends.

Pivot was one of the first (if not the first) animation programs I used.
I think it's helped me in animating characters, especially walk cycles.
Ahhhhh, nostalgia.
