Since my Skaven Mordheim scene seemed to go down pretty well, I've been trying to come up with others. I've had an idea for a 4-part rap battle with the 4 chaos gods. I've got some vague lyrics, however since I'm not very rhythm concious, it might need a tweek. If anyone's interested in seeing it, I'll PM it to you.

Well, i was working on an idea to spoof lady gaga in a slaaneshi manner - Forbid seemed to like the idea - i love music spoofs, especially if the lyrics are badass, so pm away! :D

Praise sigmar this collab's on it's feet again ;)

Oh yeah sorry for all the spelling mistakes in the previous post.
And i forgot to add that WH40K: Space Hulk was hilarious and amazing.

And another thing that's stopping me from animating is doing my lizardmen army back in the real world (not cyberspace) which has been quite hard and i think the lizards might be the subject of another entry to this collab after i finish my one now or just a seperate flash.

Guys, feel free to post all your WIP's and so on. In fact, it's what kept the 40k thread alive last time i think ;)

Updates on my part, lets say college will always be a bitch but i'm drawing and animating stuff as i type :)

PRELOADER
or my idea for one at least :3
From the Pages of Warhammer Online

This is by no means a finished piece~ just made it to demonstrate an idea before investing more time into it
http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/160210/6 7274_testt_Scene_1.php

Notes to Dat:
~Its to be done in they style like in the last collab (Castle Crashers style i guess?)
~Thats just four people that I know are in this for sure, but it would be easy to fit more artist in there
~The Catapult lowers according to the percentage of the flash that is downloaded (I have no idea how to do that)
~Characters I picked for people were completely random >_> (i'm not saying anything about anybody)
~ And if you didn't get who the people were, there was a Chaos Chosen, Ork (warrior?), Dwarf berserker, and a Bright Wizard

Whatcha think?

Ideawise, that's awsomesauce! Seriously, i dont think i would have been able to come up with something as good as that ;p However, as we stated before, the collab organisers will be animating and compiling the menus, transitions, etc.

BUT

With an idea as good as that, i'm willing to give you a shot at trying to animate it. If you'd like to do it yourself, start off with the small 'waiting' loop (no need to see the orc etc for now) and we'll see if it's as good as [or better than] flashbound's 40k preloader.

Though, as said before, we'd rather get full-animated content from you guys to get co-authored than spend a lot of time on a pre-loader and rush a short animation - though v.good idea mr.swordz :)

It makes me feel like a dick to have to say something, but it was sort of going to be a running thing that the preloader animation include just us 3 collab organizers, and was going to be animated by, the collab organizers

I love your idea for this collabs preloader, and would love to see you animate it, if youd like. but the plan had been for characters representing, again, just the collab organizers. if youd like to include yourself or selves, it will have to be all of you; otherwise it wont be fair

please dont hate me, we didnt plan on someone else doing the preloader, so please please PLEASE understand my sort of rejection of other artists being exclusively represented in it. it was going to be a sort of tradition, or running thing, me, bomblu and forbid had planned, for the opening to feature us, and I think months ago when we discussed what it would be for this collab, it was established it would be toms turn

OBVIOUSLY, this is NOT how things have to go. but to be fair, those in the preloader animation are either JUST THE Organizers, to be consistent with the last collab, or EVERYBODY

does that make sense? again, I fear Im being a dick; please tell me if I am. :(

Its alright, I totally understand what your saying.

That being said, Here is where I stand on this...

The Warhammer 40k Flash Collab started up in the forms over two years ago now. Honestly, don't look around in the Newgrounds forms, and did not learn about the collab until much much later (August I believe), and this was through a journal Legendary Frog had wrote on dA.
I asked if I could join in then, and you declined, which was fine because you guys had been working on the collab for so long and were almost done (and the issue with it being really big as it was). So I did what I could to help from the sidelines (all my post but two have been in these Warhammer Collab boards).
Now that we have started anew, I thought that I could be more of a major contributor. I thought that the Collab organizers were just the people who created the menus and worked at the end of the collab to compile it all together. I didn't realize that you guys also had a.. group or whatever going on as well (you guys did most of the work for the last one, so i figured that's why only you were in that intro). As I don't know anyone else on Newgrounds~ I would appreciate it if I could join up with you guys in leading this project and other stuff. But that is up to you.
THUS, you guys have a perfect group of three right now. No matter what I say, this collab IS being run by you three, and so I think all this should be up to you. Talk between yourself and come up with a vote on that and~ let me know. Hopefully you don't manage to come to a dead tie
If you want to talk to me more on this MSN me~ I know BoMbLu has my address

FINAL NOTE
Yesh saltoric, I know what lizard men look like
This is a Warhammer Form no? ;P

No don't worry i completely forgot about the castle crasher style at the start of the WH40K collab with you three in but i just thought as they only seems to be about 7 of us in it at the moment ? (appart from voice actors) we could all be in the preloader, but then if more people join in the collab then we could just give up on it and go back to just you three.

Alright, I just found this forum. I have never made flash videos before in my life, but I want to contribute to this collab. I play Warhammer Fantasy, so I have some good script ideas. I'm actually pretty young, but just because of all that, don't knock me off. I have really high standards for everything I do, and if it's not good enough for you, it's not good enough for me.

That's not the response that I got from reading the reviews and from the people I showed it to

As we started discussing on the first Warhammer F. Collab form, it was the jokes were the problem.
All to often people were saying things like "All in all the biggest problem was that the Jokes were made so damn bad. " with a side of complaints for bad animation and voice acting here and there
Most of the jokes were references to popculture, not based on what you can make off of on 40k (and I hang out with a bunch of "drawfags"~ i know what can be done with this stuff)

As for staying away from Dawn of War, I never heard any of that. And there Wasn't even a joke about METAL BOXES in the collab :/
But in fantasy the Orcs DO have the Doom Divers Catapult.

The other idea behind it was that it would make the loading screen actually simpler, because people complained about the loader after it had repeated and kept repeating.

As for the issue of people dropping in and out of the collab, I realize that is a problem
It would be easy enough to animate it with just 4 people (or I could cut it to just you three if you must have it that way)
Adding other animators would be simple enough as their characters wouldn't even have to be for long (screen time = mount of work put into project).

As we started discussing on the first Warhammer F. Collab form, it was the jokes were the problem.

this is truea, but as stated before, just 1 problem of several

he means the alliance with the chaos guy facing an alliance of order armies on the wall, just like the original extended ad for WAR

The other idea behind it was that it would make the loading screen actually simpler, because people complained about the loader after it had repeated and kept repeating.

they complained that their was no mute button. the actual animation was entertaining to watch once or twice while waiting for the load

It would be easy enough to animate it with just 4 people (or I could cut it to just you three if you must have it that way)

I said it before, to be fair, it must be either everyone or just the organizers. It's not fair to be exclusive.

Adding other animators would be simple enough as their characters wouldn't even have to be for long (screen time = mount of work put into project).

-it extends on the reference to that WAR ad
-it isn't fair to give some people special animations, and others just standing around

please; thank you for the preloader concept, but in the beginning we did ask nobody try to tackle it, because we didn't want to waste anyone's time.

Well, Its newgrounds... the fact that not very many fluff jokes were used may have sent the wrong impression

they complained that their was no mute button.

Sorry, thats what i meant.

we didn't want to waste anyone's time

If its wasting time your worried about, i'm fine on that. I want to help out this collab and make is succeed, not just drop a skit and leave until its done

:or just the organizers. It's not fair to be exclusive.
That's what i don't like~ How you came together to work on this, I don't know, I missed that and regret it. But for this project, I'm willing to put in just as much effort as you three; and i would appreciate it if I could be included as well.
You had an interest idea with you having a running series of opens with your group, but and open collaboration is not the place to be selective about that (at least in my opinion)

*Deep Breath*

Look, I just thought it was a good idea. If your worried about the joke of it being bad, that isn't a problem, as quite a few of my personal friends (including Sabtastic for what it matters) thought that the "sketch" was funny
The code for it could be done before hand, and last minute changes could be made depending on who actually get there shit in. And time Isn't too much of an issue when i'm dedicated to something like this

if you want to drop my idea, fine; but I'm not to happy about the just organizers being in the thing when i'm working on this too

Whats your opinion on having blood bowl jokes? It the same universe so to speak but should try to stay away from them? (I have one i'm going to sketch up later that someone else can try to use)

Good to see you guys active here.

So, if this is the way I'm going to have to act here, then I'll do so. MagicS, i like your idea, it's complicated and i like complicated things, but this is not a pre-loader collab. Me being the leader and the other co-leaders, ForbidMetal and Flashbound18, agreed on a set of rules [page 1, 1st post]. A very simple set in fact. Make an animation [dimensions and frame rate given - amount of nudity, language, etc given] which is themed on Warhammer Fantasy.

'The jokes were the problem'

For the Hardcore Warhammer fans. True. So ForbidMetal took the trouble of finding some VERY good authors and voice actors. I quite simply spoon fed you - myself included. All we artists need to do is translate the script and text into a short animation. Unlike ForbidMetal, i like variety. So hinting to Warhammer online would have made me laugh.

We gave out rules on the scene transitions, menus, credits, pre loader, and anything in relation to the collab interface and navigation. We were to do them to keep everything neat and they'd all contain the same style of art. I shouldn't have broken my own rules. We also tried to complete the menu and navigation before we even started this forum, to make it much easier for you to know where the stuff is going to be placed etc, we were pressed with time and didn't manage to finish it on time (at a satisfactory level of quality)

Here, i'd like to deeply apologise for not being too active (I'm animating, just v.slowly - college has to take the priority, as all of you should do - this is a hobby and we're doing it for the love of our 2 hobbies, animating and Warhammer).

So, focus on your animations. There's tons of stories to chose from, check the older thread to find them all if you haven't gotten an idea yet. And post works in progress.

@ MagicS:
Blood Bowl... why can't we just stick to the Warhammer theme? I mean it's pretty vast isn't it? But, for the sake of variety, if you'd like to do a blood bowl one then send me a script and at least 1 fully-finished character animation. if the animation is going to include a guy running then make this guy's run-movie-clip. I'll then send it to the other collab organisers and we'll see if it's good enough. If you get the majority [hopefully you'll get 3/3 votes] then I'll let you know and you're free to submit the animation'

The Blood bowl idea was just something i thought i would put out there for someone to use, as some people have been requesting ideas; not for me
I just wanted to draw a sketch of it because i feel that that makes it easier to lay out my idea than just placing it in words

As of now, I still plan on animating the idea i posted in the last Fantasy form (the one w/ the Chaos Warriors..)

I'll take the Chaos Chosen (as seen in sketch)

I like the idea of fighting blammers (or maybe fighting through a tide of spam(ers))
To make it easier to fix on the bases of people entering and leaving the collab~ the loader could be made up of several movie clips; with each person fighting their own epic loop. This can be expanded on by having more than one person in some loops (IE~ Warrior fights off some people and dies; healer dude revieves him, and they go back to fighting).
If someone drops out, and another person joins, then we could replace the parts of the old character model with a new one (redraw over the original) so that the "enemy"'s reaction requires minimum modification. (this is just all theoryhammer, I haven't tried it myself)
After flash is loaded, some one yells something like "The Portal is open!" and there is 5-10sec. more of animation as we dash through the "Flash Portal"

Just an idea <:3

You know, i visit this forum everyday - multiple times - and there was a time this collab was almost dead. Now that it's up and running again, dont kill yourselves. Yes Magic, we'll be doing all that stuff in the end, when we're rly pleased with the result.

No more proloader related talk, animations are more important than the preloader. By Far.

ok; well, a progress report from me (this will have been my first :P)

http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/190210/8 5433_orkReport.php

for this part I imagine having the reporter sort of filming a documentary, saying all these funny outlandish things about the orks based on the empires prejudices against them

but my voice actors gone to sleep and I cant think of anything funny to happen or be said!

ideas?

While we are talking about it~ I have a good friend of mine that is doing voice acting for me and said that if anyone else wanted his services he would do what he can. I know we already have quite a few male voice actor (do we have any female voice actors?) but here is his reel~ can't hurt to share it
http://www.zshare.net/download/72789609d 31dfc65/
You can contact him at http://jaconwes.newgrounds.com/ or just PM me if he doesn't respond to that

And For you Flashbound~ me and him brainstormed up an idea for you

~"Breaking news today as the Ork warlords have yet again ursurped one another in a riling play of violence"-pans camera to show the two [orcs] playing chess, the other orks are watching in a huge circle
after some intense moments, one says checkmate to the other.... there is silence~ and the loser jumps onto the winner and starts to beat him up
the crowd cheers and a massive brawl breaks out
-reporter is attacked by another ork- /end

also~ other ideas you might think of hitting out (if you don't like that or as new articles that lead up to that one)
-Make fun of how the make Totems to their Gods out of their Dung~ Mad Cap Mushrooms~ Night Goblins "Burning up" in the sun

Fun Fact~ Orcs are actually spelled "correctly" in warhammer fantasy, unlike in 40k where they have K
(OrKs)

~"Breaking news today as the Ork warlords have yet again ursurped one another in a riling play of violence"-pans camera to show the two [orcs] playing chess, the other orks are watching in a huge circle
after some intense moments, one says checkmate to the other.... there is silence~ and the loser jumps onto the winner and starts to beat him up
the crowd cheers and a massive brawl breaks out
-reporter is attacked by another ork- /end

This is an idea I could really get behind. My only suggestion is that a two or three moves are done before the declaration of "check" is made.

(Again, I'd be more than happy to provide some WAAAGH!'s and such for this project.)

Hey guys are you still accepting people for the collab? I'd like to contribute.

There's nothing like a delicious warm chicken pot pie to bring comfort to your evening. But when that pot pie is made from the bones of a homeless man its even better

Check the older thread, there are quite a few stories for you to work on.

Preloader's looking awsome, Flashbound18 ftw!

I'm still broken down at college, no time to animate, but i came up with a small TombKings sketch - i miss last year's abbundancy of free time :'(
