need help on buttons HOW to ?

ok i know how to make buttons but i dont remember the whole process -
heres all i know
1. make button -square
2. hilight with black cursor and
enter in script
on press { gotoAndPlay (2) }
3. make next key frame and enter - flash
thing -then type in script
stop();
i forget the rest ?

Draw a squire, select it, F8, button, ok, F9
on (press){
gotoAndPlay (2)
}
(on the square, of course.)
On the frame
stop();
Same on the second frame.
Make sure all the boxes in the button(doubleclick with black cursor.)
