Ah, good to know your not leeching off most taxpayers then.

then why doesn't my tax payer leeching count then? double standards!

No dissing students now. We're the future of Britain.
The lazy, alcohol-fuelled future.
Im only 15 ATM so theres not much point in me going, id have to take the train for about 2 hours each way anyway, so ill probably wait until the 2013 meet then I can come, and hopefully I will have a car then too.

What time is the meet on the seventh? I'm actually considering booking the day of work and coming down. Yup, you heard it. If anyone wants to lend me a floor upon my arrival it'd be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I'll sleep on the street and not really care. I've slept worse :)

We normally meet at 1pm at the eye.
Expect for Luis is late every single year.
Oh man, I'm so excited~ Can't wait to get there, just gotta find a way to like get there the cheapest xD.

Yeah, I ain't good with travel websites. Usually I just go to the station and pay on the day. Anyone have any idea how much (roughly) it'll cost from Newcastle Upon Tyne to London, return obviously.

lmfao, I look forward to actually showing up this year rather than flaking every year since '08
One day I'll have accomplished something before going to one of these things.

Become good.
If I buy a ticket for tomorrow, I end up looking at £60 each way with a young persons.
If I book in advance (from newcastle to london) I can get there and back for £53.80.
If I go by coach, on national express I can get a return for £13, however it's a coach and it's 7 or 8 hours long, whereas the train journey is about 3 hours each way. I don't know what your money situation is like but I'd be prepared to fork out the extra money for the train.
But regardless of whether you go by coach or train all of the cheaper versions are dependant on booking online, and booking early. The earlier the better.
Oh wait I got those prices based on coming down on the friday for the kareoke
whatever
I need to come to one of these one year now that I have an excuse to go to the UK more often. They run every summer or are they more sporatic?

for the last couple of years they've run mid january and early august

Well since your government foolishly gave me citizenship, I'm over there more often. I guess I'll be added to the very long list of 'I'll come next year's.

I have several friends who travel too and from London regularly and they use thetrainline.com and always seem to find relatively cheap fares. Keep in mind that tickets are notably higher on Friday through Sunday, particularly in rush hour times - the trick is to pick around the times to find the cheapest deals.
But yeah, as Leo has said, book early and you'll save yourself a substantial amount of money.
the trains are pretty cheap for me. If I leave Stafford on thursday I can get an open return (return any time within a month of leaving) for £17, for the friday it's £29 (same ticket), I'll have to get the friday though as I have no place to stay on the thursday and a hotel room would be more than the extra £12 a friday ticket is. going to arrive at ~11:30AM friday to give me enough time to get lost and find wherever we're supposed to meet.
need to practice talking to people, maybe I'll take up drinking and get pissed on the train down...

We should do a duet together. That'll break the ice.

I will train you in these dark arts. And then we'll put you with Bezman, who can and will talk the hind legs off a donkey.

Two white nerds doing freestyle rap? Count me in.

However only I can convince it to walk afterwards. Don't question me on the guide.
Dean: Rorys parents didn't give him dancing lessons. That much is obvious.
There are many things I regret, one of them Is asking the above buckfast swilling prick for a sig.
There gunna be a 2011 one too I'm assuming? If so I'll be there! I'll be at Uni in Hertfordshire hopefully so I should be able to drop by!

And if thats not enough, there's the dancing!
I updated the hub page with event info on non-meet days and also refreshed the list of attendees a bit. I think it should be comfortably done now.
None
That would be fun if they had a meet close-by where I live

Manchester's central, not northern.
Anyway, booking the day off work today. Yeah fuck it, I'm actually coming.
