You see I just bought Left 4 Dead (1) for the Xbox 360, after owning Left 4 Dead on Steam for quite a while. I noticed, however, that in the Xbox version of the game when your character is incapped/standing in fire, there are blur effects around the edges of the screen, whereas in my PC version it doesn't.
However it's also a fact that my PC's graphics card isn't the greatest one ever. A 1600x900 monitor running under a 250mb graphics. That is why I run Left 4 Dead at a 960x600 resolution with many graphic features lowered to medium. (And it still has graphic lag.) If the PC version does in fact contain the same blur effect as in the Xbox version, what setting would I have to change to restore the effect?
I'd suggest asking on the official Left4Dead board at the Steam forum. Some of the people there are seriously knowledgeable as fuck when it comes to use of the console.
I think that you have to set the Shader setting to the highest to see that effect.
