So like, I went to check out the back of my super computer & I noticed this orange RCA looking socket with a weird symbol next to it. It was like a line which formed the letter "m" in the middle with an arrow going through it. What does it do?
Is this a video out or video in socket? Or something else?

I've never seen the symbol used before, but I know the orange RCA port is usually RC6.
It's rarely used, I think it was for some DVD bullshit. But I never see any use for it.

Well it's some form of wave transmission with a current or a transistor in it? Strange.

I haven't done electrical projects for a very long time.

ORLY
'Digital Audio'.
So this is just an audio port & has nothing to do with video? :C

If you wanna capture video, depending on method.
I'd start by looking at Dazzle capture cards.

They come in various brands/models/prices. The cheapest you can get one is like 20 bucks.
Esentially. you plug in the RCA cables, and then plug in your USB to your computer. and viola!

So it would seem.
I mean, there's not much reason to have a single video-out RCA port like that. PCs already have a way to go to a monitor, and then others are built with S-Video out ports.

Yeah, although why would it be for mono-audio? Video sounds much more likely. The question is; is it a giver or a taker? I might test it on my camcorder & mini TV for both those things, but I don't want the PC to be damaged.
It's a state of the are quad processor don't ya' know.
