I've heard from my European History teacher that Scotland is not part of the United Kingdom, saying that it has its own Parliament. If that's true, then why is it if I look on a map, the UK includes Scotland? If it is independent, then who is its Prime Minister?
I'm not saying anything bad about Scotland or the UK, but I'm confused at which is true.
So, is Scotland independent or not?

Come back with one at your teacher - tell them that Wales technically isn't a part of the UK, as it's a principality of England and as such is a part of England.
This will be particularly harrowing if your teacher is in fact, Welsh.

We are a part of the UK. But we have a parliament. It was only recently that the bloody English gave it back, though.
