Its called shitty American textbooks leaving out facts to make the nation look good, the Americans used the war to go up into Canada, and they didn't even fight the British there they fought the Canadians and they still lost, and the British were raping the Americans inland, the Northern states were threatening to secede when there economy, which was dependent on trade, was destroyed and the British nearly split the union, the only accomplishment the Americans did was get more independent economically, weaken Indian resistance and rape the British in New Orleans. Also do you know about the Philippine-American war? Yah your good ol' textbook writers left that war out entirely.

We could win if we wanted to its just that the sacrfices that it would take to won are simply just not worth it!

Well right now in the iraq war, we're trying not to kill the civilians which will later grow up and become a terrorist to blow us up. If we wanted to, we would just go and do the good ol' fashioned "Fucking blow everything up and destroy everything in sight". But we can't, because then everyone would think we are becoming the next Hitler.

No but really, these are (in most cases) pretty decent facts. Oh, and about Vietnam; we won every battle that was made in vietnam, we just lost the war because of how pointless it was to watch a bunch of asians fight over "communism". Theres is no way we could have lost the civil war (since it WAS between ourselfs); and finally, I didn't even know about us fighting Canada, because in all truths, we don't care about Canada.

People fear the US? I was under the impression that the US was the laughing stock of the planet. Seriously, a lot of the English can't stand them - just to make things clear: I have nothing against the US.

Believe me all the wars you are hinting to are mostly wars involving guerilla fighters.

Also try looking at the body counts of each war, I think you'll see the U.S. comes out with the lower numbers.

War has never been about numbers. Yes, as westerners we still have the '300' mentality, that even if you lose, if you take more men out you come out a winner in the end. However, war has always been about moral, something our army loses much quicker than the home forces in wars.

That's actually kind of shocking, as you'd think if there was one thing on history you could trust, it would be history books. I do recall having this one great teacher who really knew how to make history interesting and treated it just the way it was supposed to be.

He claimed that Theodore Roosevelt did not actually march on San Juan Hill because most of the enemy forces had been defeated by black allies or something. Is that true?

Nearly all global economies have some tie in with the U.S, if the U.S was some how undermined it could have massive implications worldwide. We've seen this when the banks in the U.S crumbled last year.
