Why is it when an adult or teenager is entertained by a movie, tv show, book, videogame, ect intended for kids do they delude themselves into thinking there the intended audience?
is it to avoid embarrassment?

How can i not attack it when this anime shit is shoved in my face within our pop culture? Most of the anime i seen is highly cliched and predictable.
and don't bring up hollywood movies as defense because i don't like those either.

I'm going to bring up Disney movies now.
Not the new ones, some of the old classics.
They were aimed at children. Are they still good movies? Yes. Can they still be enjoyed by all audiences? Yes. Are they animated? Yes.
Same principle applies.
Also, you shouldn't really argue about this when you've already said you don't know much about it.
Song of the Firefly is on Steam Greenlight and Kickstarter. Give them a look and support the project!

By ignoring it. The same way I try to ignore the stuff my school listens to. Complaining about it like this is just going to make it harder to ignore, and think about it; who's the most "childish" here, the people enjoying something or the person attacking them for enjoying it?

an equally valid example would be pixar movies since it's not uncommon to see grown ass adults on there own without kids watching them.

Shows like Death Note would be a little much to understand for the child I once was.
Also, who says animation was only for children?

I think there's plenty of anime that isn't children's entertainment. I think the line is drawn when you start dressing up like them, thinking you are one of them, or thinking you were reincarnated from one of those shows.
Watch it an enjoy it fine.
Obsess over it? Get a life please.
But no, anime is not necessarily childish, just a lot of people who watch it.
Its not uncommon for anime to be used as a statement on the social, political, and economic state of Japan and the rest of the world. Princess Moninoke, for instance, is a huge adult tail about the struggle between man and nature, the spirit world and the human world, etc etc etc.

Did you guys have hot mansex after taking taht picture?
because that's totally what Light and L did /when they were handcuffed to eachother for months/
Anyway, Death note tries too hard to be DEEP. Same goes for Elfenn Lied. Watch baccano, people.

While I admit, anyone who calls themself 'okatu" are fucking annoying. Weeaboo faggots.
A lot of Anime is directed towards an adult audience, Death Note and Elfen Lied being two huge examples.

I disagree, I thought they did it pretty well, though I prefer Elfen Lied to Death Note.

I don't understand why so many people think Elfen Lied was only blood and tits. It showed how disgusting the human race can be, and if there was a new sentient race, how we would react to it and how we would treat them.

From what I've heard/seen of the two, I'd say they are lower mid-tier animes. I'd put Samarai Camploo as an upper mid and things like Pokemon, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh as lowest tier.
The movies though are where you get most of the good stuff. Akira, for instance. Or, moreso, Paprika.

I'm going to Sakuracon with a friend of mine.
I don't particularly like Anime, I'm just going for the apparently funny and upbeat people.
I'll probably be somewhat fucked up, so it should be great fun.

I don't use Japanese phrases in my speech either (unless someone talks to me in Japanese first), though I do know a very small amount of the language. I still need subtitles when watching anime, though. I only put a -kun on the end of one person's name, and that's because their names ends with -can, and I just switch them round. It's an in-joke anyway, not really to do with the Japanese at all. The story is a long and utterly incomprehensible one.

If I want to know how disgusting the human race can be, I'd just read up on Japanese warcrimes during WWII...
