Here is my personal view on foregin aid. As things stand foregin aid is nessicary. It is nessicary not becuase as the worlds most powerful nation we have the responsibilty to help others, but becuase we owe a debt of reparations to those countries that we abuse everyday. For example in the 50's dole plantion went into honduras and bought a good amount of local plantions. Dole set horrible wages and even worse conditions with absolutely no benefits. The government tried to establish a minimum wage and acceptable living status for their population, when this happend the CIA started a revolution in guatemela which has started a 30 year civil war. The whole attempt was to support american companies ability to make money with such horrible conditions. Of course the thousands of men who were killed because of the revolution and ensuing civil war, was not a concern of american companies. There really is no reparation can be paid to make up for murder, but we can't let things like this continue.

I propose that we establish a minimum wage for domestic companies in foregin areas. Then we abolish foregin aid. Americans have the right to do with their money what they want, however any man has the right to not be extorted, abused, and murderd by a foregin company. Domestic companies need to have a set guideline for wages/conditions/benefits in foregin areas as well as domestic. This does not mean they have to be the same, but rather than a company being allowed to pay indonesian workers 30 cents an hour and murder if a worker asks for a raise, placing a country in eternal economic stagnation, a minimum wage of possibly 2 dollars or something that makes it possible for sustaining life. Of course 2 dollars was just compelety an arbitary number, but the point is what was important.

What happened in the past happened in the past and should be left there. Whatever the grandparents, or even parents, of today's generation did was not the fault of the present generation, and as such, they should not have to bear that.

I've written about foreign aid before, but basically, it doesn't do anything for several reasons, the main being corrupt local governments.

Being Libertarian, I don't believe in government or taxation anyway, so the whole concept of the government giving foreign aid is a non-issue anyway. If people want to give away their money, that's fine, but the government has no legitimacy in doing that for them.

So when does blame evaporate exactly?

Ahh, yes well in *America* we have a thing called statue of limitations where by if a set dollar amount is reached by a company or businessman they get "free killings" accordingly. Err... I mean the crime is absolved, but not in the case of murder! Never Ever Ever Ever! Unless you're rich.
