Subject: IMPORTANT MESSAGE
After hearing Mr. Jones your songs seem amazing to me. The reason I am contacting you is because I would like to start selling your songs. What I am thinks of is I sell your songs $1.50 each. You will send me your mailing address and I send you 3/4 of the profits I receive 1/4. There is no way I can prove to you that I will send you 3/4 of profits. But know this, I didn't have to contact you I could have just started selling your songs and made money. But I am an honest man and I choose to contact you and ask for your permission. I am telling you this to prove that you can trust that I will keep my word. Please reply to this message at the earliest moment that you can.
i just received this. I don't own the rights to sell the music used (the background song is YunVeroz's Serial) so I can't sell this music. But what is up with this PM? Has anyone else received similar PMs?

One word to sum it up: Sketchy
Its like those spam emails everyone gets about you needing to claiming a large sum of money from the "Bank of Africa" because some rich person "died" and they want you to send them all your info to send it to you. I will say this much, if I were that person and I intended to scam you, I wouldn't have told you about it.
Try to get more hard proof.
The Main Thing is to keep the Main, Thing the Main Thing.

Wow.
You know honestly this probably isn't even a scam. Its probably some 14 year old kid who think he can push music but what he probably has in mind is to sell your shit on CD baby and take a cut for doing shit you can do yourself lol!
I assume this for a few reasons. First off I love Newgrounds. its amazing. But I seriously doubt producers scour the audio portal in search of the next big thing (it could happen..but not likely). Second the way he speaks (or types?) is really.. off? "What I am thinks of" made me cringe.
Nobody who is worth a dickfart is gonna start a sentence with "what i am thinks of".
and last of all as mind chamber pointed out.. He spends an awful lot of time playing toss the turtle...
I wouldn't even reply if I were you. I'd run.

Obvious scam. He is indeed a "honest man" to tell you that he wants to get profit from YOUR work.
Seriously, he is a bad person.

think of it this way, you said you dont have the rights to sell that song ... that ends that. now these are ifs:
if you did have the right to sell it, why dont you just do it and take 100%
if he says he wants to buy that song, why not try to get the other top song on newgrounds THAT ARE FREE
.. did i mention you can download newgrounds songs for free...
and like others said
obviusly a scam...

Defiantly a scam, i almost had a similar e-mail some time ago, asking if he culd sell my songs, i never responded.
i do belive he might trick you to give him your e-mail and sell it on.
another helpful tip:
Do some background check on him, ask if he could give you a name and a company, then a simple google check should prove if what he is saying is true.

You can't sell an email or a home address for any significant amount of money. You certainly won't make any kind of good cash sending people personally typed messages to trick them into giving them your home address when you could just walk around any street and write down all the addresses. And as for him just stealing your music and taking all the credit, you people DO realize all music on this site is available for free download, right? If he was trying to take this guys music, why in the hell would he send him a message to notify him first?
Is he going to make you rich and use legit music-industry methods to sell your music? No. But is he going to scam you and take anything valuable from you? Hell no. This is obviously NOT a scam, also considering the guy is a relatively active newgrounds user...Just take the offer for songs you originally made, you have literally absolutely nothing to lose and only the possibility to make a few bucks off mp3s he'll sell to his friends on his shitty personal web site site. You're not making any money from those songs anyway, and if he doesn't pay he loses his newgrounds credibility (and probably account, if you speak up about it) and you don't lose anything at all.

My address isn't really that valuble. You can look it up in the phone book. I think this is some kid who wants to upload my song to itunes or something similar and make sweet moolah. Good luck. :)
Regardless of whether I say yes or no he's probably going to do it anyways. It doesn't really bother me, just publicity I guess. Here is what I sent back to him:
"Would you rather be covered head to toe in belly buttons or have a row of penises up and down your spine?
Peace,
Joel"

Weird pm indeed. But here's the rub: he'll do it regardless of what you say, you'll get screwed no matter what, and there's no right answer. If only this had never been posted, the 13 year olds on this site might have never thought of this. Now, the cat is out of the bag and we're gonna be fighting every pre-pubescent "entrepreneur" onsite for the next 5 years. Yay!

If he's trying to get it up on iTunes, he's got a long hard road ahead of him, I've checked out what you have to do to get stuff on the iTunes store, it's not as simple as just uploading then watching the cash roll in.
He'll stop trying when he finds out you have to sign up with one of iTunes partners (Which costs money and sometimes a monthly/annually fee)... Then try sell it elsewhere, yippee!
