PS3 - Just getting started.

So i've finally got my PS3 to connect to the internet and have downloaded, hopefully, all the updates. I'm wondering if any of you could help me with a few things.

At the moment the only games I have are "Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction" and "MGS4". I'm wondering what other games I should buy? I'm only interested in PS3 exclusives since I own a 360 and use that for my main gaming.

Also, any tips on what to do first to help me setup would be nice. My PSN ID is "Warshark"...I think. That's the name of my profile when i'm offline and since i'm able to use this profile online, i'm assuming that this is my PSN ID?

Also, are there any freebies on the Playstation Store that you would recommend downloading. I doubt if there actually is anything free worth downloading but I thought it would be best to ask.

Ok it seems "Warshark" is not allowed for reasons unknown. I was going to put my 360 gamertag, but it seems spaces aren't available to use.

Warshark seems to be already taken by someone else. You'll have to go to the PSN tab and set up your account there under "Playstation Account".

You'll want to get "Quest for Booty" and "A Crack in Time" to finish off the Ratchet and Clank Future series. Quest for Booty is available on PSN, but can also be purchased in disc format in the Europe and Australia. It's short, and only has Ratchet, but it's still fun. You'll only be getting world exploration/fighting though, I don't remember any puzzles.

A Crack in Time is the most recent R&C game. Not much has changed from the first installment other than solving puzzles using Clank.

If you like Ratchet and Clank, you'll likely also enjoy the Uncharted series. A lot of people describe it as similar to playing an Indiana Jones film. You play as Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter. I don't want to say too much about the plot, but you eventually wind up having to save the world from impending doom in both games. I'll leave it at that.

I just got inFamous today which is supposed to be a great game akin to Prototype, but I have yet to play it.

Wasn't a big fan of prototype, it got boring after a while. Although a lot of people say that inFamous is a lot better.

I've heard alot about this game and I think it will be on of the first new games I pick up. However, from what i can gather, it doesn't seem to be out in Europe yet. Is it only available for import at the moment?

I'm not so sure about ninja gaiden but the god of war collection sounds good. I'm assuming it's all 3 games in 1? Does my PS3 have to be a certain model to play PS2 games because GOW1 is a PS2 game right?

i to finaly got PS3 for christmas and i have 6 games i really like. not all of them is PS3 exclusives though.
the PS3 games i have:

Ratchet and Clank: Tools of destruction
Mirrors Edge
Metal Gear solid 4
Brutal Legend
Orange Box
Dirt
downloaded games:
Metal Gear Solid 1
Crash Team Racing

i find every single of these games pretty good.

Mirrors Edge have a real adicting gameplay. i can't stop loving wall jumping. i just finished Storymode. have to complete speed runs and time trials to. story was kinda boring if you ask me, but the gameplay alone makes the game 9/10

Brutal Legend is the real deal. finaly a real good game where Heavy Metal plays the biggest role. you play as Eddie Riggs (Jack Black) who is the worlds best Roadie. he is sent into a world of heavy metal where he makes a army and fight against the evil Glam Rock...
the game also contains guest apparences like Lemmy Killmister and Ozzy Osbourne.
it also have the best game soundtrack. lots of Ozzy, Motorhead, Tenacious D, Whitesnake and more.

i actually have the Orange Box for PC, but my brother hugs onto the Team Fortress thing so i had to buy it for PS3 so i could finaly play Hals-Life 2.
the Orange Box consist of 5 games. Half-Life2, Half-Life2 episode 1 and 2, Portal and Team Fortress.
i have just played TF2 and Portal so far, gonna begin Half-Life very soon.

havn't played Dirt yet. my dad bought it xD

i also borrow Assassin Creed which is a really fun game. a little hard to follow the story, and sometimes a little repetive, but it is really fun to collect clues and hints and then assassin the bad guy x)

i suggest you to get Brutal Legend, Mirrors Edge and Orange Box, if not for PS3 then for xBox or PC

The God of war collection is God of war 1 and 2, remade for the ps3 both in one package. It works on any PS3. Of course you should buy the third one as well when it comes out.

you need credit card to buy things online. but i think you can buy pre-paid cards in various game stores. downloaded games are also pretty cheap.
the cheapest one i bought was Crash Team Racing which cost about 4$ (25 norwegian) and Metal gear cost about 11$ (70 norwegian)
Crash 1 and 3 cost both about 7$ (40 Norwegian)

i havn't found that much interesting games online but Crash and Metal Gear. both franchises is really worth downloading.

Not a lot of good free stuff, but if you love multiplayer then Warhawk is a good free game start off with. You can get the full game for £16 or twenty dollars.

Demon's Souls is easily the PS3's best game, so you should definatly cosider buying it. You should also buy Uncharted, A Crack in Time and inFamous.

The great thing about great ps3 exclusives is that they usually could not be done on xbox 360
Uncharted 2 LittleBigPlanet MGS4 and Killzone 2 are all great examples of this. Gt both uncharteds they're great and 2 has an awesome multiplayer, and so is the resistance franchise though i don't know if you'll get much out of their multiplayers anymore. inFamous is great, though not groundbreaking, and the other game i have is motorstorm which is a good racing game.

The perspective I may have that others don't have are on downloadable games, which I play alot of.
In my opinion psn games are tons better than xbox downloadable games

Fat Princess spectacular multiplayer all around fun game to play
Flower really off beat game with no other goal than to make flowers bloom and bask in its relaxing calm my favorite game to play when I'm stressed out
Noby Noby Boy cheap game that costs 5 dollars but it offers so much more, theres no goal to this game either other than to explore the wacky world in which it takes place i've spent 6 hours playing this game not achieving a thing it was great
Ratchet and Clank Quest for Booty good game and addition to te series, it's not full length but still good
The Pixeljunk Games these are called Shooter
(arcade shooter), Eden (organic garden its better than it sounds), and Monsters (tower defense) all of them are great and offer something addictive to play, all of them are collection based, like you have to collect a certain number of stars to get to the next area.
Super Stardust HD great arcade shooter very chaotic.

You should definitely buy both of the Uncharted games. There's also Killzone 2, inFamous, and the 2 Resistance games. Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time is pretty awesome.

I say it's pretty good. Good campaign, the online is very fun. I eventually got bored of it though.

Which one is it where the first level is in some random town. Not sure if that will help. Basically the only colour on that level was brown. It seemed everything was just brown and/or different shades of it.
