I know they exist :P And I didnt just rake the lock, even tho it looks like i was, my pick was getting stuck

On a cheap padlock, pretty much any manipulation of the pins can easily have the same effect as raking.

'deadbolt' is kind of a meaningless term, it's worth noting. If it's a kwikset or similar cheap brand, it'll actually be easier than your padlock. I've got one sitting on my desk.

Be careful. If you rotate the cylinder 180 degrees without a key in the lock, you might allow the top pins to fall into the cylinder a little bit, sticking the lock in a useless position.

'a lock' is the important part of that sentence. Locksport is a hobby people dedicate many hundreds of hours to to be able to open real locks. (That is, expensive locks)

- Try a hairpin.
- Try it when it gets warmer and you'll have less cold.
- Maybe look for some kind of briefcase or suitcase you have in your room that may have a lock, or ask your friends if you can try picking their locks.

Yes, for free. Also, we have free candy.

I used to pick locks at my middle school with the mini screwdrivers in the tech room.

I had no idea they had vending machines in the teacher's lounge there.
