No one's mentioned A Clockwork Orange yet? That book is epic. Also, George Orwell and Patricia Windsor are really good authors. 1984 and Diving for Roses are awesome.

Also, Don't we have a club about this?

It was an interesting story, but it was difficult reading it. I love the concept, but honestly it would be better if it was written in a slightly less text-book essay style.

Personally my favorite book is Perks of Being a Wallflower. It's so easy to read, and you never want it to end.

I am reading The Road right now, pretty grim but I am enjoying it.

I have a few books that I love including Pillars of the Earth, Enders Game, Donald Burgett's memoirs, and Shantaram.

A Star Called Henry by Roddy Doyle.

Honourable mentions to Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting books, Doyle's Barrytown trilogy and most of Michael Crichton's work, but Jurassic Park in particular.

Only as far as both take place on an island full of dinosaurs, and both have characters that share the same names, but not the same personalities.

I'm reading Plato's Republic right now. I'd say if you ever want to debate Politics or Philosophy you should read this book, even if you don't agree with it.

idk actually.

I'm reading one at the moment called "Pretty Monsters" by Kelly Link. It's a book made up of several short stories, I've only read 3 of them and they are a little kiddish I guess but I'm completely captivated. Two of the three short stories so far have left me wanting more, have left me wanting to read entire books on the things she has packed into like 30-40 pages of writing. So this could very well turn into my favourite book. Every good writer leaves you wanting more, and she certainly does.

I'm reading a load of Dean Koontz books at the moment but my all time favorites are the Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind. And Stephen King's Dark Tower series is amazing.

I once picked up a book called Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin A Abbott. It's only 130 pages but it's incredibly creative and different. I really loved that book.
