The mods actually only do 30 minute bans, then once it gets down to 15 seconds you get banned for another 29 minutes and 30 seconds, then the mods send you PM's laughing at you.

The noob didn't. He thought it was, "DAN FUCKING PALADN" posting in this thread.

It's just a 30 day ban. The mod who banned you just continues to give it to you. It's very unlikely to get permabanned though. I have been banned for a total of 90-120 days before for accidentely creating an alt while not knowing I was banned on my other account which I stopped using.

It's a regular ban screen, but the mod who banned you includes PERMABAN in with the ban message.

They don't permaban they usually just delete the account.

I actually was permabanned. I asked Tom Fulp about it at Comic-Con 07 and he made sure I got my account back.

I dunno, he just doesn't.

The majority of permanent bans are simply 30 day bans which are re-administered again before they expire each time. Admins can also extend any ban to any number of days they wish. For example a while back there was a user banned for a number of years.

The ban screen looks the same as a normal ban screen, obviously.

However, these days, most accounts are deleted rather than having a large extension to the ban time. Most permanent bans which are updated by moderators keep the accounts off the forums until they are reached in the deletion queue.
