I usually frequent the VG and collaboration Forums. If you find me anywhere else, I'm lost and can't find my way back.
sorry to say Otto....but the reviews and scores speak for them selves...u wont see some collab about monsters or how you computer died, doing well in score.
im not saying dont create your own ideas....just that if you want a well scoring collab with a crack at the front page....its smart to do that.
if you are that set on making something about aliens or whatever....i would just recommend making a solo movie!
but i hope u guys prove me wrong!
i think the best type of colabs are the ones that are original and cool in a different way. not things that are like the transformes collab or something like that. those collabs on only using 3 colors were really cool and stuff like that is what catches my attention and makes me want to join/watch the final version
Good Collab ideas:
Sonic Dick Sucking Collab
Hentai Kawaii Desu Domo Arigato Collab
4Changrounds Meme Lulztacular Collab
Bad Collab Ideas:
A collab that has any sort of direction or story.
A collab that uses good animation.
A collab that's basically just a larger animation worked on by many people to make something neat and nice and keeping the art style consistent.
I'd basically join a collab if it seems like there's some actual interactivity between users, and it's noticeable that people are having fun and making bonds. Of course, that's only possible in two world: An imaginary one (Margaritaville) or one without lawyers.
i think art collabs would be good ones to join, because most flash collabs are just random stupid shit like throw the ball and push the button or going through a red door, i mean they are cool but... theres so many of them and they never have anything real great on them, but then there are collabs that just make sense like the street fighter collab, which had a lot of good artists and a lot of funny shit, and sprite tv was a really good idea, ive seen a few other good collabs must arent much though. Marvel Collab now theres a collab, if it ever gets submitted...

There's plenty of original collabs who get front page and tons of views, they're just simply collaborative projects. Making a collab doesn't mean the name has to be "The 'gimmick/copyrightedcharacter collab'.
I don't see why a couple of animators can't get together to make something magical. Why limit big dreams to one person, that's not smart to do that.

problem with music video collabs is that people drop out, and when someone drops out, it slows the collab down sooooooo much. Quite a few music video collabs fail (only you can not be a douche and actually make a part in a reasonable amount of time).
I would join a collab that's on a simple subject and one that'll credit most of the people that worked on it and just just 3-4.
