Are flash ads a nice way to get some cash?
Say I get 50 thousand views on a solo animation. How much will that bring in on estimate?
I'm talking about regular ads that newgrounds support. I heard in some cases you can make 400 dollars. In most cases a person makes mabye 2 dollars. correct?
True? I don't know. So newgrounds-
1.Are flash ads a good way to get some money?
2.When you use different ads, such as MochiAds, do you get more money?

The quality is how you make money, if infact you earn any money.

Flash ads all depends on the eCPM of the moment. If the current eCPM is 2 dollars (which is a LOT, don't expect that to happen often, if at all), you will need 25000 views to make $50. Please note you will only have a check sent to you when you have made $50 or more. If the eCPM is 50 cents, which is much more likely, you will need 100,000 views to make $50. In short, eCPM= how much money you make for every 1000 views. I don't think I left anything out, but if you have any more questions, just ask. :)

Yeah, it's pretty much all been covered. But another option open to you is sponsorship. Which could make you a lot of money, on a regular basis.

But of course it means a lot more effort and skill on your behalf. Sponsors are looking for long-term commitment, a high standard of submissions, and for you to effectively promote the sponsor. Whether, it be through flash skill alone, or by distribution.

However, the safer, and easier option would be to use the Ad API.

It is determined based on the popularity of your Flash. The more popular it is, the higher the eCPM, the less popular, the lower the eCPM. The eCPM also increases based on the views you're getting per day.

For example, Windows Doors has an eCPM of $.28 right now. That's mainly because of its score/exposure. When it was still on the front page, it had an eCPM of around $.75, because it was seen by anyone coming to Newgrounds.

I've made over $230 from Flash Ads in the past three months. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

No, you will continue to gain money, just after your total reaches, or exceed, $50, THEN will they send you a check. Only reason because they would lose money if they sent checks for like 60 cents :P Traveling costs (shipping, w/e)

When everything is set up. When Flash Ads are online and running, you will eventually have a chart running in your Ad Revenue section of your Account. Usually the chart starts showing progress when you are entitled to around 10 cents. It might take a few weeks if you're not quite popular.

Flash Ads are just an added bonus of being a part of Newgrounds. You won't hit 50$ until you've wowed the entire site with a few front page submissions. I myself have only made around 3 dollars total, and I can't even remember when I started Flash Ads for myself.

But start getting Flash Ads going anyway. You never know if you're next project becomes a big hit on this site.

I usually frequent the VG and collaboration Forums. If you find me anywhere else, I'm lost and can't find my way back.

ECPM is a part of the flash API, it's merely a way to calculate how much revenue your game/movie is making by each 1000 people who click it.

CPMstar has a way higher eCPM. Currently I have an eCPM of $2 on my latest game. I only need it to distribute well enough.

I think that it's always best to stick on a NG flash ad on the preloader of any game or animation submitted to NG providing it's at least decent.
