Bah, why would you go back to Vista when Windows 7 JUST came out? The library I go to did this. They had Windows 98 for 10 years, and they finally got Vista. The fail part is it was several weeks after Windows 7 came out.

People are bitching about 7 because they can't afford it. Same was with Vista. I've used them both, and prefer 7, although there is absolutely nothing wrong with Vista, which I am running.

This.
Also, I'm running the release candidate for Windows 7 and I have yet to see a bug or problem with it.

I got enough money to order my parts for a custom built. I'm also going to be running Linux and Windows 7 on it. Enjoy your viruses, crashes, and price gougiung.
This looks froody.
I think OP made a misstatement. I think he meant "With XP it took 9 seconds to load a page, but with Vista it's 10x slower.
Vista's okay but can be annoying and sluggish at times. Unless you have a good computer, you're probably going to get angry at it later on.
I haven't tried Windows 7 yet, but I heard it was good so you might want to get that if you are disappointed in Vista.
For me, Vista is good enough. I don't really care, as long as it's not anything before Vista. I haven't crashed before so I'm not sure what those people are saying.
If you want to compare, try asking an expert at a computer store or something.
Well have fun with your new computer stuff.
On a granite worktop, aka. a kitchen worktop therefore it is not in your room and you do not own it as one person so stop lying trying to say you got a awesome computer. BTW that computer looks like a flimsy piece of shit, looks almost as bad as the OS.
Christmas Present boast fail
I'm going to swim against the current for a moment and congratulate you. Unless you have a laptop or some terrible computer, then Vista is great. By the time I got my Vista computer (Summer '09), I was getting real tired with my XP. It was slow and loaded down with so much useless stuff my brother had installed.
I was once, too, one of the nay-sayers with Vista. But then I actually used it, which most people don't do. Vista, I think, may be slightly better than XP. Vista was just easier to use, although it was different from XP and took maybe a week or so to get used to it all. But once I actually did get used to it, everything worked very fast and very well.
Of course, I bought it after all the revisions had been made from when Vista first came out, and all the bugs had been fixed.
The administrator thing got on my nerves, but I eventually found out how to turn it off. That was the only flaw, besides the "Run" option not first appearing in the start bar, except that takes a simple "Search" to fix.

OS performance is directly related to system resources and hardware.
Vista is beautiful on a beautiful machine.
Why do you give a shit if he has Vista or not, if you think it's dumb, then just sit back and laugh manically at the potential fail.
Tick Tock
I'm sorry you didn't get a Mac. Have fun with all the spyware, viruses, and anti-virus software running in the background to slow you down.

Those articles were written while Win 7 was still in an early beta, one being 11 months old and the other nearly 2 years old.
Just an FYI
I have 7 and I love it.
Still haven't encountered any problems with it.
=D

I've been using it for months. I love it. My laptop has Vista, and I hate it. But 7 is just so much sleeker on my desktop.
