Computer Building... Dec. 25th, 2009 @ 11:25 AM Reply

K, I have figured out all the parts I'm gonna get, but I don't know if they're all compatible with each other or if I've missed anything else.

Mobo, RAM, and processor bundle
Case
Graphics card
Hard drive
PSU
Optical drive

Will all these products work fine with each other? And have I missed anything essential out? Thanks in advance

Don't skimp on the PSU. It's the one thing that could ruin the whole system. Find a 500W or so Corsair PSU that's in your range. You won't regret it.

Everything is compatible. However I would think about investing in a more powerful power supply. While 520 watts will probably power everything, it's a good idea to get something a bit more powerful for future upgrades. Also, go with a more trusted brand for PSU, such as Thermaltake or Coolermaster.

Corsair is a good brand, and 650w is more than enough power. Plus it has modular cabling, which is a big help in wire organization. I like it.

I'd go for a Radeon 5800 instead of Geforce or wait a few months for nvidia to get their fermis out.
