3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsMy gramps took me out for lunch today, first thing he does though is phone me at 11 this morning and ask when I want to get picked up. I told him 11 30, and he disagreed on that and said 12 00. So whatever.
Then when he asks where I want to go, he says we can go anywhere, I say McDonald's, and he decides to go to A&W.
This happens with Gramps and I on everything, this is just an example. How can I fix it?! He's asking me what and then disagreeing.
Yeah, whatever.

Seriously, just let him do what he wants. He's old. He deserves it.
"NO gramps, what do YOU want to do?"
Understand that while he is picking you up and paying for the meal, he can go wherever he wants. Get used to it. He's merely offering to let you decide when/where to go to seem courteous, while he already knows exactly what the plan will be.
Just be thankful you still have your gramps.
Don't cry about it. He's old and wiser than you. He deserves the respect. I doubt he got any back then like 60-80 years ago.
Do or die.
I'm not complaining or whining about it, or crying.
I'm just saying, I don't understand why he does this, it's not only when we go out for meals, it's when we want to go somewhere and do something, and it's also not only with me, but with the whole family.
Yeah, whatever.

What a shame, Mister Jensen.
I never asked for this, Mister Denton.
Well, you did want to go to McDonalds after all...
Unlike you he isn't long for this world.
I let mine do whatever and whenever he wants.
The old man is spending time with you and taking you out to lunch. I'd love that guy if he took me to A&W. I haven't been there in ages, and it's closed in the winter. During the summer it's super busy. Our family had an argument on where to eat this weekend. My little brother threw a fit so my parents caved and we ate at McDonalds, like always. A&W > McDonalds any day. I didn't even care where I ate, because it's a privilege to do so.
I wish my grandpa took me places. He just sits at home and watches horse races.

Well if he refuses, refuse back.
Strychnine and cyanide. A healthy part of this complete breakfast.
Some people feel content to pour syrup on shit and call it pancakes their whole lives.
You killing yourself will lead to no more further disagreements between you and him.
This too will pass.
Memento mori
That's not so bad, really.
My grandpa spends all his time laying around on a satin pillow...

Because 2,000 years of "For God so loved the world" doesn't trump 1.2 million years of "Survival of the Fittest."
