Hello Newgrounds,
Ive been going through the verry tough proccess of getting my brainchild to come to life. After around 6 weeks of concept and design i finaly feel that i am ready to begin forming my idea into an actual game.
My Introduction.
My name is Nate Breshears age 15. Been animating since the 8th grade and have been doing it adequetly for about 3 months now. After being inspired by some various creators on this site and stumbling across a verry interesting story in the bible i desided it was my time to shoot for the stars.
My Role In Development.
Aside from writing the story, development, concept, and design i will also be doing all art and animation. Ive concepted every character (exept the rider of famine cuz im stuck between a couple of consepts) and have begun the animation proccess. Currently i have just touched on this because of some personal issues and only have This To show off my animation but ill keep this forum posted with my updates untill i find a programer.
What You're Making.
This game is a combo based style fighter. Think Portal Defenders meets mortal combat. There are 6 bosses total each with unique encounters. there are special minions for each "Level" and 6 playable characters. Each character has his own combo set and his own special ability. all of the boss fights follow a simple formula: First encounter, Minions attack and boss exits, second encounter. ill get into more detail about this stuff as well as story through PM when i get serious offers.
Requirements
I am actualy a decent programer but have noticed that this is out of my league so i wont be the easiest to impress.
*Must have proven yourself a successful programer in one way or another by either showing me a
an engine you have writen or by past successes on the portal.
*Must be willing to take constructive critisism
*Must be willing to revisit this for special holiday updates
*Prefered to have in AS3. AS2 is acceptable (if i have to choose between 2 programers of equal ability and commitment and the only difference is the programing language i will choose the AS3 guy.)
*Must have Flash CS3 or higher.
Revenue
Ah yes the blood of the beast.
All Revenue earned will be split 50/40/10 with a reserved X$ (depending on the success of this) for the programer
50% for me
40% for the programer
and 10% for our audio artist if we have one. (if we dont it will be an even 50/50 split)
Im sure this will be a verry successful endever and cant wait to work with you.
With Love,
Nateofwar.

Hahahahahahaha.
So the revenue of the audio comes out of the programmers wage ?
Lmao
With that kind of art and your cockiness, I'd switch the audio guy's cut for yours :P
Your no Adam Philips, your art isn't worth more than the programmer's coding.
Don't fool yourself kid, go work on your artistic skills and then come back.

I don't think he was asking for your opinion. If you don't like the way the wages are set, don't join. There's no reason to be an asshole.

I have my asshole moments, but my point is that he's looking for an experienced coder with a low wage as an offer and its quite rare to find that. Sure I could've said that nicely but I felt like being an ass :P

good point i guess theres no reason i cant take a cut from my profit. But you have to understand also that the programer gets a stable pay as in no matter what he gets X$ wich i explained in my first post.
so before i can get my first cent he gets a set amount of money. the entire game could pull only 100$ of revenue and he would get his reserved amount (lets just put it at 50$) then the remainder would be split between the rest of us. that is why i took the audio cut out of his percent. i have my reasons for everything i said and i thought this out before posting.

Alright that sounds better but now you seem to be making an odd decision.
If your getting an experienced coder, its obvious that he knows what he's getting into whether it will generate money or not.
So rather than make it complicated for nothing with the whole stable pay thing, just split it evenly in both cases meaning: 50/50 or 45/45/10
These days, unless the programmer is contracted for a fix sum of money, revenue is usually split in percentages like that and its the common thing to do.
Now I will leave you be before I continue in more douchebagery.
Good luck, also you should visit this :)

Its pretty shocking to see that you found a way to take my asshole comment somewhat positively. In that case here are a few things you can work on:
-the sword, it doesn't really look like a sword, it looks squished horizontally and weird in general
here's how you could make it look like(drawn very shittily), and use references it makes your art make more sense
ref 1, ref 2
-the shield and other arm don't move in the idle but the body does, make it more natural and make those two things move a bit at least
-the torso looks weird he looks kinda lopsided
Hope it helps a bit

Don't we all. :3
And OP, zrb is right. Your art is not worth as much as you think it is.
You want a programmer. You won't get one if you act like you're better than everyone, which you're not. You need to understand that the programming for the game is usually better (and more important) than the art. The programmer deserves at least 50% of the revenue, if not more.
