Some 2m poses. I get a better sense of volume from these than I do from my 2m sketches earlier this year

WIP means "work in progress".

Nice studies so far, one thing that may help is to see some master works and how they do gesture and rendering.
Proko talks about these subjects a lot on his youtube channel.
keep up the good work.

I don't expect you to understand Latin, but I'd think you'd seen Lorem Ipsum before?
The text that's supposed to be there (image included) is a poem by my grandfather, and this visualization is my gift for his birthday. I'm not gonna translate it word for word but it's about a fisherman conquering the forces of nature with his extensive wit and experience.
I ended up going in a very different direction with this, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thanks! I've done a bit of master studies already and I'm certain some more would be very beneficial! I should get into doing weekly master studies ...

That turned out really nice and I'm sure your Grandfather will love it.
Happy bday, Gumby's Grandpa!
Speaking of Birthdays, I got a notification saying it was YOUR Birthday today! So...
Happy Birthday!! :D

Hehe, I don't know where you got that from but it isn't until Thursday!
My brief hiatus if anyone wondered was because of a visit home to celebrate said birthdays!

Looser stuff
Short day, I blame the fire exercise in the middle of the night ...
e: I've also playing around with Krita a lot.
It's definitely super powerful and I'll recommend it to everyone who's looking for a free drawing software!

WIP
I spent like all day on this shit and it's not even halfway done ...
Yet I feel like I couldn't have done it any faster or it would've been too loose.

90% of what I know now is based on things I learned the last six months!
Study efficiently on the right things you can learn even faster! Sometimes it's a struggle to find motivation to keep going, and often it's hard to know what and how to study most efficiently. I know if I had spent more time on the right things I would've learned much faster!
Keep doing a volume of work, and you'll see your stuff improve over time!

I spent almost all my free time today on this:

It's looking good.
If you are going to continue work on this piece, I recommend you redo the interior of the car, the biggest issue seem to be the seats being too far apart. I tried looking up some pictures of cars, but I weren't able to find a picture that illustrated the issue well enough, if I were in your shoes I would find a car, roll down the window and try take a few pictures from the same angle, get some friends help and get them to pose as you want and you will have the perfect reference.
EDIT: on another note, I would also change the composition a little, moving the girl off-center to the left and make the man driving less eye-catching than the girl, maybe make the give the red pillar in the background some lines towards the girl to bring out the depth more and to give some lines for the observer to follow.

Thanks for the solid input!
I'll take some further steps to attempt to implement it in tomorrows update!

I'm liking where the expression of the driver is going. I want a sort of crazy, terrified look and I think I'm getting there. The colours are mostly just notes for later

Well, I really like the expression. But, have you tried making the eyes smaller?
Or like adding pupils and deflating it?

I think the large eyes wide open gives him that wild panicking crazy look I want.
I didn't change much today, I think I'm staring myself blind on it. I'll probably go for something new and different tomorrow and come back with fresh eyes. I don't want to work in too many details until I'm happy with the overall view.
I bet you thought I'd died! Or more likely you didn't notice at all, but I haven't posted in like a month!
I'll try to get back on track with my studies regardless of busy times ahead. Also it's likely I'll have as much time to keep it up the next two years, so we'll see how that goes too ...

Thank you! I don't know about improvement - I remember being dissatisfied with yesterdays bunch in particular and all this slacking off certainly isn't doing any good! Hopefully I'll start seeing improvement on my own as I try to stay engaged with drawing!

I want December to be focused around perspective. Hopefully you'll see some architecture and urban landscapes popping up throughout the month!
Been on weekend vacation
Let's get back on the horse for real!
