Those are pretty much the top 3

What?!
When making Alien, did Ridley Scott simply leave out storyboarding because he was 'sick of it'?
When writing Lord of the Rings, did Tolkien simply skip editing, since 'he was sick of it'?
Did Bach leave out the whole composing thing and simply slapped a few notes on the paper, because 'he was sick of it'?
Reality check: go!
You're not getting the job done, you're getting the job half assed done and you either do it right or don't bother to do it at all.
Now your just fooling yourself.

Actually, he loved counterpoint. But I agree; if your comic is terribly unstructured, and other people can tell, you're going to need some way to structure it. And I guess that means using a storyboard.

Storyboard or no storyboard, I like my work! Your telling me that my work is bad after seeing what, one or two pages worth? I was able as a kid pump out dozens of comics without the need of story boarding. I can sit and plan and plan all day long and it would not matter in here to critics that nit-pick on every little detail.
Case in point, The pros of the anime series Negime about a middle school boy wizard (Popular) had made a single mistake of leaving a staff as a background part WHILE the girl picks up the staff and kid wizard to run off. OTHERS AND MYSELF STILL LIKE THE SHOW! If the pros are able to get away with mistakes then STOP being so harsh of my work!

I'm not talking about your work, though I could quite elaborately, I'm talking about your attitude. Do you want to become an active, professional member of the comic creating community, or do you not?
Because you can't take shortcuts, you can't leave things out, you can't look at your work and say 'that'll do'. You go all the way, or you don't. You strive to get out the best of yourself and your abilities, or you don't. If you're unable to, then you learn and you learn it all. Everything, top to bottom, over and over again.
You show your work, you will be criticized, harshly. But you suck it up and keep going, learning and doing
You know why? Because you don't fuck around. Because you really fucking want this and because you will jump through every goddamn hoop and walk every mile to get there.
Now you're just pissing all over yourself.

You're not a pro so don't liken yourself to a professional production team who have been at it for years.
Errors slip in, they always do in every production. But those are small slip-ups not to be compared to leaving out storyboarding. Christ.
Because an extra forgot he was still wearing his watch when filming Braveheart filmmakers can suddenly get away with iPhones in a Western?
There's no excuse.

You should like your work, everyone should like there work, except me, I'm artisitcly emo like that. You should like your work, but like and satisfied are different. You can like your work, but are you satisfied with it, did you do it to the best of your abilities? I say no, cause as you said, you don't do storyboarding and you take short cuts, that does not show your true potential.
No offence, I think everyone made their own little comics as a kid, I had note books full of them, as a kid I thought they were fantastic, I know now they are total shit, if I were even to redraw them, sure they'd look nicer than they did before but showing them to people who do this kinda thing for a living, I' honestly think they'd be insulted.

2 points
1. However you aren't making mistakes, you are skipping a standard process to making a legitimate comic, you don't want to put in the the required work, let alone the extra effort it takes to make it big.
2. THIS IS THE ART WORLD, people will give you critiques whether you want them or not, some harsher than others but it's again, a necessary part, with out critiques artists abilities would remain stagnant, they would never grow as artists.
I truly can't believe the amount of blissful ignorance and stubbornness going on in this thread. When ever people tell you something is wrong, constructive or not, you come back with something random that has nothing to do with YOU, that someone else has done, that's fan-fucking-tastic.
"Case in point" the pro's got to where they are from hard work and the drive to improve, you are taking shortcuts, you don't work to the best of your abilities and because of that you have been turned down by the 3 biggest webcomic hosting sites, what does that say? It says you need to work harder if you really want this.

ok now this i Have a problems with.
Pros make mistakes, big ones, small ones, and all in between. And they don't get away with it, someone catches them, either their director or one of there colleagues, or even them selves. Although some times when production times are short, they just say "Fuck it, we'll get it next time." but none the less they are mistakes, they are not meant to happen, but do anyway. And every artist knows their are no excuses for mistakes.
So, acknowledge your mistakes, stop making excuses fix those mistakes, and stop bitching because some one is harsh on your work. As it stands, I truly do not think you could make it in a professional setting if you can't even handle some rough critique from us.
good day sir,

Dear lord, is this guy for real?
You can like your work all you want but you must be delusional to show something like this and be offended when people point out the numerous glaring flaws. I'm not going to waste my time listing the problems with your "work" since you don't bother listening to constructive criticism, but I will say that you need to get your head out of your ass and realize that you aren't even close to a professional or dedicated artist.
Instead of saying we're too cruel of critics, why don't you take at least one comment to heart and work on your art?

I see myself as an amateur cartoonist, I'm dedicated to my work but I know I still have a lot to learn, no one here claimed to be professionals and you are avoiding the point.
Every criticism given to you was responded to with excuses and defensive nonsense.
It's obvious you can't take the criticisms of a mere art forum, you'll never make it in the comics biz with an attitude like this

Whether or not you like your work doesn't exactly matter to most audiences. Just because you like it doesn't mean they have to; and if they don't, they probably wouldn't be in the interest of hosting or publishing your comics.
And just because you can draw lots of comics doesn't mean they're good. I'd rather draw a few good ones that is the result of dozens upon dozens of study-scribbles than draw lots of bad ones. Hence pauca sed matura. If you don't take people's advice and nitpicking, you're not going to improve; they can see stuff you can't immediately see in your artwork.

It's not that you made a small mistake or something; your anatomy just need work. I wouldn't call that a small mistake; having the anatomy wrong is like trying to build a skyscraper on a rickety old, rusty frame.

Well you have a lot of talent...and the vampire thing might work as a comedy...but i don't think anyone could take it seriously because of the drawing style, the drawing style is very distracting. I get it's meant to look weird, but still just fix the eyes and make things look a little LESS child like, it can have a kiddy look to it, but if you make it too bizarre then no one will want to look at it. Your coloring is great though i love your bar scene that one was amazing.

No one will publish your "work" because it is shit. Learn to draw, learn how to build comics, learn to take critiques.
Your artwork might offend my eyes, but the worst part of this is your attitude and lack of responsibility. Anyone with a shred of self respect and common sense would have gone away and reflected on the critiques given here - they would have looked at their artwork with fresh eyes and tried to understand the perspective of the prospective audience.
I think perhaps you have some sort of mental issue.
Just sayin.
Ok, i don't like to do this, but check out my art thread, it is called "My Drawings" (Sorry no link, idk how to do that) you will see a comic called "The Angry Old Man" that one was very badly drawn and took only about 15 mins. THEN, i want you to look at the one called "Shock Therapy" that one was done WITH STORYBOARDS and took about 2 hours to make. What i want you to do is look out how welly laid out the panels and script is. Tell me what you think. i too, am trying to make it in the comic business and lemme tell you, it is a lot of hard work and takes an EXTREME amount of patience. I take about an hour or two on each page even. so yeah.

My degree says I'm a professional Animator. If I go in some business and apply for a job, they say, "Oh your a trained animator."
but you know what I don't consider myself pro, and probably won't for some time cause I have yet to prove myself here on NG or else where in the world or the web.

Yeah I need to adjust the eyes, I was trying to do the whole batman look and it really does not work well for my characters. Glad you found something you liked about my comic and knowing what I am trying to do with it. I will try to keep it down with the wildness and get more adult about my work.

Really.....Really? He told you things that have already been said SEVERAL times in this thread, he just put "you have talent" in front of it, that makes it an actual critique?
An actual critique is honest, picking apart your piece showing your flaws to show what you need to improve on, so you don't make those same mistakes in the future.
Similar to proof reading, you know why you give it to someone else, because the way the brain works, you will tend to glance over mistakes you might have missed, someone else would see intermediately.
looking back, there isn't much punctuation going on in what you've posted, it makes it difficult to read.
Some people are a little less "cruel" than others, and will sugar coat it a bit, that's not a bad thing, but someone who really picks your stuff apart is more valuable a critic than someone who doesn't.
People have been giving you honest critiques since the start of this thread, myself included, on how you can improve your comic, and you just brush them aside cause they're too harsh instead of taking the critiques to heart.

I'm in art school and typically people tend to take response to critiques better if you say something nice to them first, and if there is something you don't like you have to give a soft insult and a slight push. You don't want to risk sounding like an ass in front of 20 people, it's not the same as it is online. There are just certain ways to say things to get people to listen. Also you'd probably get in a lot of trouble with the teacher if you are too obnoxious.

HA! your kidding right,
David Stipes, Never pulled any punches with me or anyone I knew when it came to our stuff. He wasn't just teaching kids to go out in to the world and survive. He was training us for the reality of it.
I value Stipes opinion over any one of my teachers.

thats not an excuse to be rude. If a teacher says your work looks like crap he should be fired. I've seen teachers look at the worst work imaginable and tell the kids that their work doesn't look like they took any time on it at all without litterally saying it.
And sometimes when peoples art looks mundane and "bad" it's usually because that's what they are attempting to make it look like. Telling him he should never do art again is not going to deter him. Just tell him what seems the most distracting and let him work from there. But typically in critiques you have to say what you like and what you don't like. As we were always taught to do. If there is something you don't like say it politely.

I'm not sure if I speak for everyone, but frankly I don't give a rat's ass about his work. Yes, it sucks but we all sucked at one time so I can't really blame him. You have to suck before you get good.
What I'm doing is calling him out because of his attitude. He wants to make it in the comic biz, yet refuses to storyboard his comics...
I want to land a job as a gamedesigner. I don't just leave out the flowchart of a game's front-end, I don't leave unfinished paragraphs in my gamedesigns, I do it all.
I do it because I want to do it and because I know that there thousands of others like me who also really want to do it, it's extremely like that at least some are ahead of me and it's a small, small industry and incredibly tough to get into.
I don't have the luxury of fucking around, I have to pull 50-60 hour weeks trying to get my Unreal Tournament 3 level finished and I will have to work even harder next semester. Granted I haven't worked on it for the last week and neither has the rest of my team. But when school starts and the deadline comes into view once more, I will be there and I will do everything in my power to bring me and my friends to a succesful conclusion of this semester, only to have it start all over again.
I'm not sure how things are in a comic business, but I don't expect it to be that much easier.
You either go the whole nine yards, or you realise you aren't cut out for it and go do something else.
It's all about attitude and wesmeadow isn't getting shit with his.

There you have it ladies and gentlman! Walking out washing his hands off of myself is "a little wimp who can't take a critique on his work."
After all he has been told by not just myself, but another guy to fix it and clearly he still has not done the work to fix a mistake that takes -what a minute to correct.
