You can blame Rig for today's Wacom pun.

Oh look, a new feature has appeared!

Liljim just launched Dumping Grounds, a traditional file uploader and just one piece of the Voltron we're building.

Note: due to some global changes in our upload system, you may need to clear your cache for uploads to work.

For an example I've uploaded my decade-old NSYNC Shootout game that got purged when we launched the 2007 redesign. It runs so fast now that it's nearly impossible. NEARLY.

And remember this crap? Give me a break, it was Flash 2... Movie clips didn't even exist yet!

Dumping Grounds currently supports .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .psd, .tif, .tiff, .swf and .fla uploads. Expect .txt and .as next!

Additional file formats such as audio won't be available until the next phase launches. Other potentials include .ai and .pdf; I'll announce updates as they come.

Anything you upload to Dumping Grounds is available to anyone who has the obfuscated link; we won't promote it anywhere so it's up to you who you share the link with.

If your upload doesn't work and you've cleared your cache, PM me with the following info:

1) Your browser type and version.
2) Your OS type and version.
3) What version of what software your file came from (ie Flash 8, Photoshop CS4, etc.)
4) The subject "DUMPING GROUNDS BUG"

More to come as things progress!

Today's Wacom tablet goes to SpikeVallentine! Can you believe he's been using a mouse?

Spike has a big release coming to NG this month, watch for it!

I heard about Dumping Grounds once or twice ages ago and now it's finally up. I haven't uploaded anything just yet but I'll be sure to use it whenever I need it. My only concern is the potential malicious use here but I'm sure it can be easily dealt with.

Also Tom, will you guys be adding a button to go to dumping grounds from our account settings?

Yup I wanted to ask the same question.
I think there really has to be a button in the my account settings.

Response to Wacom in a Winter Wonderland (14) 2009-12-18 16:42:00

No mp3's, Tom? STW just stopped allowing mp3's for piracy reasons, so I've been looking for a new place to upload those.
HOW DISAPPOINTING

It would be awesome if you could display your dumpings on the BBS or userpages. But that might lead to spamming and whatnot.
