Any other good ideas, cuz I was thinking of a vocal recording option in this program. Just an ideas since FL Studio would be an amazing program if it had a vocal recording feature. Know what I mean?

FL Sequencer + Onion Skinning + a non-conventional Notation sequencer as well

Just curious...when and how are you going to be putting this DAW together?

Because from here, it looks like vaporware to me.

I would like a beat slicing VST where each individual slice is able to be sent to any mixer channel, instead of all sounds from the vst going to one.

As I said earlier, I am just getting ideas to move on. At its current phase it could be vaporware, but if people see that its their chance to finally see something they really want in a DAW, then it can move on from an idea to a possibility, to finally something people will be using. Once I feel I have enough possible ideas I will find a group of programmers with a very good portfolio in programming to program this DAW. I want to see this as a very alive project, that's why I need as much ideas/help as I can get.

So wait. You're not even a programmer?

Do you have investment capital? Have you ever coordinated a project like this before? What kind of a time frame are we looking at here?

This thread is wasted space unless you can provide us with more than lofty aspirations.

Built in Midi keyboard like garageband and the ability to put effects on a designated area of a recording, those ar basically my only huge wishes, other than that... AU and VST enabled? thers a lot of good stuff in AU and a huge libary of VSTs, if we only could join them :D:D

I can tell that no one here has any idea what they're talking about, since no one has thought about how much work goes into just writing the GUI of a DAW. Think about the incredible complexities of a DAW studio, complexities that are not handled by an operating system API. I've built my own audio engine using openAL, and could probably write the basic audio processing engine for a DAW, as well as add support for VSTs... but that's the EASY part. The hard part is making it easy to use. Throwing in Raknet for realtime internet collaboration wouldn't be that hard - making it easy to use that feature, on the other hand, would be. How do you know what the other guy is doing? How do you control changes? How does all this work in the GUI? You could write a DAW with all the features that you guys have mentioned and it could still suck so much balls no one would ever use it.
