I always scratch my head in confusion when people say to "make up your own religion"...it's like if you have to make something up, why even bother? It's almost like believing in something for the hell of it. Then there's mixing of religions which is even a more radically strange paradox. Just go with budhism or something, you obviously resist authority figure, so maybe find yourself in that philosophy. Shouldn't be too hard if you're up for a bit of reading and don't want to kill your fellow man.
I must lollerskate on this matter.

Buddhism rocks. Like i said it was an excellent choice for me. The reading isnt that bad, and if anyone is looking for a "religous" philosophy that is more relaxing than pain staking pick buddhism. go to Buddha

Yap. I'm Christian myself, but Buddhism makes for an excellent read; there's plenty to learn and explore.

I actually find that most Christians that read about Buddhism are more accepting of other religions after they do so. That might be too overgeneralized but thats just something that ive observed around my town.

Well for me, personally, I checked out Buddhism because I think it's inherently important to accept and understand other religions. I can't stress enough how much it disapoints me to no end when I see Christians throwing down other religions or talking about "hell this" and "hell that" for not following scriptures. It's not our place to judge. People always seem to forget that; it's a shame.
I must lollerskate on this matter.

Yeah, it really doesn't make much sense at all. I find it inherently impossible to believe in something that I made (but that's a personal issse =P)
What (if anything) to you think are/is (a) major flaw(s) with your religion and why (please be valid).

L Ron Hubbard did it, and he started to believe.

The way i see it is, every religion is something made up, why not create one that satisfies you, i prefer the afterlife with the beautiful women. I'd say hell with the norm, but im an athiest.
Athiest + Anti-Bush + Anti-Organized Religion = Hippy

I guess if the stock religions aren't quite good enough and you REALLY need a new one to join, you could always look into the church of the subgenious.

No, because hippies believe in free love (aka sex) and having sex doesn't makes you sXe. I should know, that's my main exception to that lable.

Any religion under 2,000 year old, ya can't trust it.
So basically, go to Catholicism. It might have done the Crusades in the 500's, but who cares? OR Judaism. OR Islam. That's it.

Just because it's old doesn't mean you can put your faith into it. The Roman Empire was old yet they were a ruthless bunch of liers (I took latin, so I know about this stuff).

Ends up I was already in the church of the Subgenius, and am an adept master of FUNKqu. Besides, I have achieved true slack.
My band Sin City ScoundrelsOur song Vixen of Doom
HATE.
Because 2,000 years of "For God so loved the world" doesn't trump 1.2 million years of "Survival of the Fittest."

there are 2 different sXe types. there are the ones that dont do drugs and the ones that dont do drugs and have sex or drink caffenine. For the longest time i thought the same so i didnt go by sXe but i recently found out that there are two types. or at least their is now two different groups.

lol, I'm not really looking to change or get a new one, I just wanted to attract attention to the subject of the different religions and I wanted mass opinons of it. You all have been really helpful, and I thank you.
