who remembers DOOM? (Voted the greatest game of all time) ahhh yes..... the 1993 shooter where the player takes the roll of a baddass UAC marine sent to mars after assaulting his superior. After about like 8 seconds of being at UAC HQ in mars, demons begin to attack and you hear the screams of fellow marines. Suddenly - silence. "Looks like all your buddies are dead." Then, our hero embarks on his journey killing infected marines as well as demons and other...um...things, eventually making it to hell itself. Really, the first modern shooter that set the standard for modern shooters.
(Let us not forgot the BFG 9000 >:D)

I just saw it in a FYE for XBox, it was on sale 75% off. I should probably go back and get it tomorrow like I should have today. They also had Elder Scrolls 3 for the same deal and I should probably pick that up too but I'm afraid of transforming into a 22 year-old virgin gamer nerd chick with Elvis Costello glasses and back acne.
