so i did bad on an algebra test and they found out and got really ticked about it they said all my grades suck and that i cant use the computer for anything but homework and they unplugged all my games and locked my game room and wont give me the key until 'my grades come up' but i know from friends anytime they say that it takes forever for them to give back what they took away

what should i do i seriously have to sneak on the computer every night when theyre asleep and i dont like doing it because i almost got caught once

Exactly. I highly doubt that your parents think you are "stupid" in school, but they wil, think that you do not respect them if they catch you. At that point, they will give you the same respect you are giving them: jack sh*t. What is best for you is to work hard on your next test and get the passing grade (and algebra can be useful in the real world, by the way).

3) Determining how fast you will need to go to get to a certain location by a certain time.

Also, whoever accused him of lying about being 13 because 13 year olds don't do algebra, that's not true. I remember taking pre algebra in 7th grade and we had to find x and y etc etc and I'm only moderately old compared to you youngsters.

well anything that involves running monetary data involves various algebra (Accountants, CEOs even)

A basic knowledge in mathematics, including Algebra, is required in all scientific fields

So a variety of things need Algebra

Think of what parents do when they grow up to get money. Architecture, engineering, finance, management, network administrators, even the stock market day trader. Simple, simple algebra they learned before they were even in high school.

And it's not just the content of what you're learning, but HOW you're learning it. You're learning to solve problems. You're using a part of your brain you don't normally use, in this case to solve problems. When you play fast paced video games, you're only working on your reaction speed. Wouldn't it be nice to have a good reaction speed, AS WELL AS knowing what to do at that exact moment, faster than before? In order to do that, you exercise your brain. To exercise your brain, you pay attention in fucking algebra.
