this happened to me too. i ran the updates, and then the fan started going really fast, and then i couldn't get it started for an hour and a half (i was still on hold for fucking tech support)
is it both of our computers, or microsoft?
Bacon goes with everything.
I just ran a restore and am not installing the updates again.

It can't be Microsoft since I had a pretty big update today and my computer is fine.
sounds like your computers since the fan has nothing to do with your OS, probably a coincidence. I'm running Win7 as well, installed updates, everything is working fine.
