Do they REALLY need all those T.V. ads?

I mean they make enough god damn money as it is. YouTube will not die if you remove all the Telus or whatever ads starting before you watch videos...

I mean, it's fine on smaller websites, such as news network sites, and whatnot, but YouTube? Really? Google? What?

Am I the only one really pissed off by all that crap?

Also the huge animated-T.V.-like-ads on the front page are god damn annoying.

YouTube is full of idiots who'll click on anything that promises them even the most generic eye-candy. It's hardly surprising that 'visual-aid-heavy' ads are all over the site, seeing as it's a video site as well as a huge pit of mindlessness.

But you're right, all the annoying ads everywhere are starting to become a pain (I've got several of them blocked already).

I strongly disagree with this. Newgrounds has way more orignal content and creative influences in entertainment than YouTube. Most of YouTube is compromised of shitty videos that nobody gives a damn about.

At least with Newgrounds they'll pull that shit off the site if it sucks, and glorify the removal of shit while YouTube has videos that are 4 years old and still bore the hell out of people.

YouTube's changed in the past 3 years too, and definitely not for the better. The copyrighted music removal is bullshit. Friends of mine have made videos that had music in them from other artists, and even in the video AND the description said 'copyright WMGA' or whatever. YouTube still removed the videos. And the advertisements annoy me right to a boiling piss.

Youtube is worth over a billion dollars, most of that comes from ad revenue, without the ad revenue, they would probably struggle to survive, simple economics my friend.

You know Youtube doesn't profit, right? (If we assume they pay for their bandwidth) they're losing over $500,000,000 a year.
