Here's a wind map. The dangerous part of the storm, besides the snow, ice, etc, will be the high winds and low temps. There is -20 degree air up around the Canadian border that this storm will pull down into the Midwest. If you are in the worst area of this storm you don't want to be out driving and get stuck out in this thing.
For the Northeast, this shows areas that could get a mix before changing to rain, etc:
This is a neat graphic for anyone who may have to drive in cold weather. It's important to note that if it's cold enough, road salt can become ineffective, unless it's also treated with other chemicals that work at lower temps.

This storm you'll probably just get rain. There maybe some storms coming in the next week or two that will give you snow.

Well it's gonna be awhile if it comes at all.

Then get on your Canadian weather sites and post some pics here. Or do you need those of us in the USA to do everything for you Canadians? :P
Some of the maps extend into Cananda.

Aww man, you guys get tons of snow and I only get tons of rain.
Ha ha...Charade you are

What part of NY are you in? If it comes at all? It's a MONSTER storm, do you think it's just going to vanish? :P
That system hit us days ago over Friday and Saturday. There's about four feet of snow, and in some places the drifts are up to seven or eight feet. I might post pictures later, since none of it has melted
Damn, I just stepped outside and couldn't see down the street. White out conditions indeed.

The center of the storm is currently North of Texas, the center of the swirl in the sat images. It still has a ways to go and is still getting stronger.

Rochester

On second thought, I should have looked at the whole map before judging the size. That's.... ungodly

that sucks theres a dot on wyoming were i live.
What do you mean? My country is very chilly with minimal amounts of snow.
Storm will be weak, excepting places that just aren't prepared to handle it. I had a storm like that at least 6 times a year where I went to college.
Basically, its a slow news day. :/
Yeah, 80 mph will suck, but that's probably only where the lakes are.
Looks like we might get a bunch of snow coming our way in Kansas City

It's a US/Canada storm.
Anyways, it looks like western mass is going to find itself in the middle of that "treacherous mix" zone sometime during the early morning. Here's hoping for a snow day, but not for a white out.
Well, it looks like this thing is going to hit my part of New York. I'll get pictures when it hits.

The snow yet again misses southern Ohio. The snow would be welcome instead of cold rain. It has been raining for nearly 3 days straight.
Huh?
Fuck, it's almost going to hit me... I wish it did.
:(
Will there be snow in Tampa, FL?

Damn! This is the first I've heard about that storm. It's just barely missing NYC, where I live. But still, looks like we'll be getting some rain over here.
Really sucks for Wisconsin and Michigan, though. I hope things don't get too terrible.
I'm in the Milwaukee area, so I'm going to be seeing some serious snow action--not that it isn't to be expected living in Wisconsin and all.
Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

I know that. I was using that joke to hint to Wade that not all site traffic come from America.
