When rappers rip off rockers or anything else... The artist is usually quite cordeal and even performs the song with the rapper. Despite how bad they butcher the damn song. Pretty significant as most rap these days is ripped off and completely tooled version of classic songs.
Then when a rapper like say... coolio gets ripped off by weird al, they get all pissed off.

You kind of answered your own question there.
Never heard of what your talking about.
It depends on the song really.
In some cases its win. in some cases its fucking fail.
When weird al does it.
Its never fail. White and nerdy etc. Which were all well received.

I heard Coolio talk about this and he made a pretty good point. Gangsters Paradise isn't just a 50 Cent gangsta song about how hard he is, he is rapping about the reality of growing up in the ghetto. He didn't appreciate Weird Al making a fun of such a serious song.

This was back when he talked about how he was trying to prove himself.
It depends on the rapper and the rocker, now Jonas Brothers 50 Cent? I assume 50 would win. Eminem like Beatles (IMO anyway, I don't like either) Lil Wayne - Green Day? etc.

Do you have any other examples of this happening?
You know, like something that didn't occur thirteen years ago?
That's all personal preference. And when a rapper "rips off" a classical song, it's not "ripping off", it's "sampling".
Katy Perry has most class...
Whu- Wha-?
Oh no no no, I was talking about herlegs.

ok first let me say, I agree, and rappers are all undertalented, overpayed cry baby ego monsters, chances are if you have an album of 12 songs, and 11 of them are other peoples music, and you talking about how awesome you are, you...have a rap cd.
but in coolios defense, lol, everyone needs a defense, he wasnt mad because they stole the beat, he was mad because it was supposed to be a serious song, and weird al made fun of it
The only thing that can extinguish this up-and-coming flame war is Jarate.

Even if he has evidence of something happening 13 years ago, it still happened, and it still proves his point.

It doesn't prove anything about rapperSSS (SSS as in "plural") when he can only come up with one ancient example.

It's never ripping off, it's covering.
Weird Al rules and he does it in style.
You haven't seen me, yet.

This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.
