Avast (The anti-virus program i'm using) just said that one of the files in Fl studio was a Trojan. I was wondering if anyone else was having this same problem and if i can fix it.
The file it is is the "Fl.exe"
Avast is calling it a:

If your using a torrent, you should clear it out and consider on downloading from a different website/mirror.

You're not allowed to talk about illegal practices.
Eitherway OP, changes are that you pirated it, and that there actually is a virus in there. To be sure of a clean version of FL... buy it.

From what I heard, the compression method Image-Line used results in some virus scanners detecting a virus from it.
So I wouldn't worry about it.

Could also be possible that it was an unafilliated virus that just happened to infect FL Studio. Might wanna do a full scan of your computer for viruses, malware, spyware and adware just incase. You never know what else might be infected.
Something similar happened to me and it was telling me that all of the stock FL groove templates
and effects were infected.

Torrenting is illegal and we are not allowed to discuss about it's aspects.
But if you downloaded Toxic Biohazard, that could be a reason. Usually some FL downloads carry a trojan through Toxic. I suggest deleting all FL studio and reloading it without Toxic.

It's a false positive. This is happening to almost everyone with Avast after a virus database update. Just turn avast off for now until they fix this issue. It happened to me too. Not a real virus, don't worry.

Symantec found viruses in the FL.exe file and a few other data files a few years back. That was before I had officially bought the program, so it was either the torrent or something attached itself to that particular file. It's happened to me before, viruses attaching themselves to files. I've found viruses in M$ font files, weird stuff like that.

I find it ironic that you are discussing NOT discussing torrents.

Lol yeah, but I didn't torrent it, I have the Demo of FL 9, and it would be rather pointless to torrent a demo in the first place. But i'll have to reinstall it, since it sort of chested it and i don't really want to go through the process of getting it out. I'll just have to hope that there is still the demo for it. Thanks to the one's of you who gave helpful hints. =3

The act of torrenting is not illegal. It depends what you are downloading that's illegal.

I think it was mostly for those people who got FL or any other program of the sort through means such as torrenting, so torrenting has become taboo because of the nativities it has against it.

I find it very rude to judge someone has an illegal copy just because they say it has a virus.
It is infact a false positive, and effects fl studio and many other programs through their dll's.
I've also just run into this problem and my FL Studio is legal, paid for. I ran into it first through other programs.
Its a pure fault in an avast update, All you need to do is turn of Standard Shield, the rest can stay on. When Avast updates, put Standard Shield back on.

I use Toxic Biohazard all the time (And I got it legally, along with FL Studio Producer), and I've never had a problem with infected files.

I'm also doing a scan of my computer and it found Guitar Pro as a trojan of the same sort. So it's just the anti-virus program being overly cautious i think

Its nothing to do with the anti-virus being overly cautious, hell that isnt even possible, anti-viruses cannot think or one day decide to be overprotective than another day.
It comes down to the way the dll are coded. It does it on things like skype, some websites. Hell even anti spyware programs are flagged lol

Haha wow, at least they seem to be pretty quick to fix their errors once they've been noticed. I just don't want to end up having to change anti-virus programs over something like this, since Avast saved both my sound and just about every other aspect of my computer on that first scan lol

I use Avast! and the exact same thing happens with me. I just end up disabling the anti-virus while I use FL.

According to that link that viion put up, they fixed the problem. But that's still up for interpretation at the moment.

Which means you've been infected with the virus for a month until avast updated their heuristics database with that particular viruses signature. Sure hope you haven't done any online banking.

It really helps when you read the entire conversation before you comment.
If you had read on you would have also read about the "False positives". And also I just reinstalled it from a reliable site. One that Fl even provides for you i believe.
Fl Studio 9 Demo Download page
I used "cnet" and it still popped up as a trojan, so it was just Avast! having a technical difficulty, and i beleive they recently fixed it because the warning no longer appears everytime i touch it lol

It's simply a false positive, AVG just thinks its a Trojan because of the way its been cracked.
Best bet? Look on youtube for a link to download the full verision of FL Studio, in the description of the video, there is usually a serial key too. :)
That's kind of illegal. The people who do that usually just don't want to have to pay for the product.
